Title: Phantom Breaker Battle Grounds Overdrive PS4 exclusive features. July 21
Post by: affinity on July 14, 2015, 11:43:14 AM
I'm miffed Onechanbara doesn't have co-op , but it's great news that Overdrive is coming to PS4 sametime as other regions.    A worldwide release in fact. With 4 players co-op offline and online, definitely interested in that. It looks to have a lot of moves and depth to its combat (which explains why it also has a versus mode), and with the leveling system, looks like there is much to do.    I'll still get Onechanbara, though I will play Phantom Breaker first for the
online mostly, Onechanbara can be played anytime psn is on maintanance, so might as well play Phantom Breaker
online while the community is active.

I own the game on steam and I can definitely say its the most in depth and best beat em up out there. For those who hate one attack button beat em ups, or no special or super move beat em ups, this game is perfect. You can do a lot of awesome combos, air combos, special cancels, super cancels, parries, and even activate a mode similar to Street Fighter Alpha's V-ism or Capcom vs Snk's A-ism.

However, I want to mention, I actually own the actual series to this game, Phantom Break Extra. The reason Battlegrounds plays the way it does is because it is literally a transfer of Phantom Breaker Extra's Fighting game mechanics all into Battlegrounds literally. So whatever you are used to doing in battlegrounds can easily transfer over to the fighting game, Phantom Breaker Extra.

It's actually really good and I recommend getting both. There are plenty of interesting mechanics and physics that are fun to experiment with. It's also incredibly original from other fighting games out there. If there's one thing I hate, it's people who keep asking for their fighting games to be like Street Fighter 3. If you want the SAME game, go and play that game instead, "don't destroy the creativity of a new game for your selfish desires!" says a wise man.

Don't overlook either of these titles everyone >u<, Battlegrounds especially. PBB has customization with its level up system so you can focus on attack, defense, and speed stats as well as learn skills that open up the deep fighting game mechanics within this awesome beat em up (such as super moves or guard cancel)

thanks, didn't know it was that deep!  that is very welcome!! So I guess the combat is on par or better than Guardian Heroes?    Well it really looks great and on PS4 I think it will be pretty awesome, including those that seek
more local co-op games.
