What kills me is that Castlevania could easily produce some quality console-style mobile games (ex. Shadowgun, Ravensword: Shadowlands, Dead Space Mobile, Mass Effect Infiltrator, Dungeon Hunter 3, etc.) but Konami will never do that.
It could also make for a great parody game, like Tiny Death Star, but Konami will never do that.
It could even make for a satisfying Endless Runner (as happened for Spider-Man, Tomb Raider, and Sonic the Hedgehog)... and Konami MIGHT do that.
But under the "Mobile-and-Casino-First" vision of New Konami, all their future handling of their constituent franchises will be as cheap, low quality, and exploitative as humanly possible to keep costs low and profits high.
So will we get an awesome mobile game about Castlevania, Silent Hill, or Metal Gear that channels the console game spirit like those games I mentioned at the top? Nope. How about a great parody title like Tiny Death Star? Nope. Endless runner? It might happen, but expect more microtransactions than Clash of Clans and a pay-to-win style.
Most likely, we'll get "Castlevania Crunch" (like Candy Crush), "War Economy: Metal Gear Solid" (Like Clash of Clans) and "Escape from Silent Hill" (endless runner).
And if you're entertaining any thoughts of protesting, you may as well pack up and go home now, as Konami doesn't exactly have a history of caring about what the customer has to say -- their mode of business has always been more "I will tell you what you will be buying (no refunds) and then you will be grateful to me for permitting it."
It sucks guys. But this is gonna be the way things are, moving forward. Nothing short of an act of God will change it.

I've already made peace with the fact it's over. We still have a whole legacy of games to come back to and enjoy at any time, so there's that.
My hope lies in Bloodstained now.

I already consider they dead too :(
The idea to continue making our favorite games for cellphones is good but since Konami sucks they will just give us hope and them take it away with a game that you will need to pay to buy potions and stuff with real money.

Between a new Castlevania game that has a solid plot (because it's just a remake of Rondo) but limited to stupid pachinko gameplay versus a new Castlevania game with actual gameplay but bogged down with Fatal Frame V-style writing, what do you guys think would alienate the fans and kill the series faster?

I played through a great amount of CV titles in the past few years and beat most of them (Excluded Akumajo Dracula MSX since 1:the game mechanic was not fit my favorite style perfectly 2:lack of continue chance, and some Amiga/MS-DOS port of CV1 because the strange hit detection)
For the actual Honami fucked up nowadays, I have no idea. Now I just pick some good Doujin/Fan made games/Independence products to fill the blank day of lacking a "REAL" CV title.

I guess the name 'Konami' suits the company truthfully now, more then ever.
Konami = small wave

I know it's bad to say things like that but if at least they were bankrupt or something other ppl could buy their game names and keep it alive.
I want to be alive the day that they need to sell the Castlevania name to the fans via kickstarter or something like that and then the fans choose someone to continue the game storyline!

Don't really see that happening, and I'd be nervous as to who'd get it and what they'd do with it.

Yeah it's a impossible idea but who knows maybe there is a real rich Castlevania fan out there that will try it :)
The hope is all in the indie companies shoulders now!
