It's not. I used to yell at my old Nintendo for "cheating" or being "impossible" all the time when it killed me.

I'm watching the Sonic video and it's already pissing me off.
Are these two idiots?
Notice how in the recorded game play they never use the spin dash and just run into enemies.
And do they realize how asinine they sound when making fun of the story which they obvious didn't bother researching.
As for the Cinemassacre ones... don't even get me started. I don't like the James & Mike mondays video mostly because often they both suck at playing games and Mike does a really good job of showing how ill-informed his is. And the dude has the attention span of a newt. Like here, he is so eager to comment on the game looking like it starts at the end of Last Crusade that he completely ignores the text on the screen that says the location is the American South West.
No you're right, a lot of people seem to think that their lack of understanding or skill makes the game bad.
Sometime games are difficult in unfair and unintelligent ways. Like Street Fighter 2 on SNES the computer just does more damage at higher difficulty as opposed to the AI actually getting better.
I think it's because people are spoiled now by games holding their hand and telling them how to do everything.

I'm guilty of blaming my lack of skills on my games back in the day. Now I blame myself and even go as far as putting myself down and calling myself names, which is really far more self-destructive then blaming the game for cheating. My reality is quite toxic when you think about it. It is more healthy for a person to vent their frustrations out at nothing then to vent it out on themselves IMO.

Indiana Jones is indeed that bad...
...But the fact that they didn't ONCE press Start was driving me absolutelly insane. Pressing start in games like this to see what can be done is common sense, man. It's like the FIRST thing you do once you notice you can do nothing else.
But indeed, the game gives NO WARNINGS about adding important items to your inventory, if I remember correctly. This verges on guide-dangit levels.

I think it's acceptable with some old shitty games like ET or Superman 64 etc. if a game controls like shit or has unforgivable platforming, that's one thing.
But the whole point of games is the learning curve, you're supposed to get better the more you play.

If the game has bad controls, I blame the game. But if it is well made and I just suck, I blame myself.

I just remind and lecture the game/characters about how good is supposed to always win so there's a happy ending, so it's my job to win. ;-)

I own this game (Infernal machine) on PC and I can remember enjoying it very much. It reminded me so much of the original Tomb Raider but was Indiana Jones. The game does give you medic kits to start off with so if you do get bitten then you can bring up the menu and cure yourself. I was waiting for them to do just that but they never did, lol. It was irritating to watch. You'd think common sense would play out during the vid, bu~t no. If I were there with them I would pointed out all these little things just to help get things rolling faster. Although It's unfortunate that I can no-long play my Indi game as My windows OP won't recognize the game no matter what I do.

The guys who talked about Sonic...I have to agree with them to an extent.
The spin dash would've helped them a lot, but there definitely were a lot of parts where you didn't have time to react before you'd hit something and lose all of your rings. That really became a pain in the ass when you try to get all of the emeralds.
But to be fair, I never took the time to learn the stages, either. Just didn't have the patience to do it on the Sonic games. Those were just games that I wanted to pick up and play for an afternoon, then move on to something else.

I've never seen DSPGaming, but that's the first I've heard of this. James has done this on Castlevania 64, and it grinded my gears that everyone just took what he said as fact instead of trying out what is a really good game for themselves to try. Someone can suck at a game, but the problem is when people just blindly accept what the person is saying. I'm not saying everyone should try every game, I'm just saying that most of these people can't actually seem to think for themselves anymore.

CV64 suffers from a bad camera at worst. Yes the controls aren't as fluid as a 2015 platformer, but camera was its main lagging.
Aside from this it was very playable and took a learning curve like the original Castlevania.
How many platformers since have had the balls to place pitfalls that kill you into a 3d game? Gamers are too soft these days.

It's a pet peeve of mine, especially when I see people claim the jumping and knockback mechanics in ClassicVanias are "broken". When the entire games are built around them. Just because mechanics are unusual doesn't mean they're broken.

What's your operating system? There are usually work-arounds for popular games to get them running on modern machines. Are you using x64bit windows? I did a little searching and there is a special fan-made installer for the game to get it running on modern systems but I can't vouch for how trustworthy it might be.

I'm using windows 7 64-bit version. It has a built-in program to allow older programs to be able to run, but it doesn't work for my game sadly. I have scoured the net finding possible workarounds for this issue, but no luck finding something that's straight-forward and easy to do. I have seen solutions however I just don't get them.
