Title: Why arent castlevania legends or simon's revenge on 3ds virtual console?
Post by: olrox2 on January 03, 2016, 09:51:33 AM
I noticed Castlevania adventure is on VC, as well as Castlevania from nes, Simon's Quest, Dracula'sCurse, but those two games are absent. What reason does Konami have to not bring them to VC?

They might still be getting around to it. After they take a break from doing their lifeless pachislots that is.

They better lol. I just don't get this logic Nintnendo has: "We're starting the GB VC, what are some popular games we can put on here? Three Castlevania games are for the GB, and one of them is universally panned, while the one other is a classic and the other is OKly received... It makes more sense to put the most hated one on here, call Kopachi now!!"

From what I understand Nintendo contacts the original publisher and gets the license to release it I the VC. Idk if publishers approach Nintendo on their titles being available, but either way having the Adventure alone makes zero sense. Ik Belmonts revenge is the sequel, but releasing that first would've meant a WAY more popular game would be available. Even Legends would do OK on VC I imagine with its fucking rediculous price online plus the curiosity of fans who haven't played it.

Buy an Ouya for $90 and you can have every Castlevania game on console up to SOTN for free.

This includes every game boy game on the big screen.

It's great.

I'm considering selling my physical collection now. I have a family and it's a pain to store all of my old consoles and games. Now that I have everything, even Haunted Castle and Vampire Killer on my Ouya.

It's fucking great man.

Man, the Ouya suffered from Dreamcast Syndrome -- it was just too beautiful to live.

Well, is the VC even alive on the 3DS anymore? Last time I checked there hadn't been a new release since december 2014, at least not in Europe. Maybe that has changed now? I doubt we'll see anymore Konami games on the 3DS VC though, especially not CV Legends.

The PAL VC is a heap of shit, sorry but it's true!

you can do the same and even throw the n64 into the mix with a raspberry pie setup. I have one upstairs in our "library" with 2 SNES style controllers and 1 n64 controller. Its fun as hell. Ive thought about buyin an old crt tv or monitor to hook up to it instead of a normal flatscreen just to complete the old school effect

I really need to do this with my Ouya. But I know I have to use my PS3 controller because the Ouya controller is total garbage.

Or if you have an original Xbox which is modded, you can dump nearly an infinite number of roms and emu's on there including those CV titles and play for free on your big screen.

Except to do that you have to pay for an Xbox and then go through the trouble of modding it.

I got burned by Xbox once. Never again. I'd take ouya over Microsoft crap any day.

Pisces I have to disagree with your controller gripe. It's not the greatest controller ever, but I have no serious complaints about it. It gets the job done.

Beats playing with a sideways wii remote for sure

Are there any steps that can be taken to improve the Ouya controller performance? There is a very noticeable lag during emulation and that just kills it for me.

I think the PAL and US VC have virtually the same content? Wouldn't call it a heap of shit but I would've thought we'd have SNES and GBA games by now. Really disappointing.

So? Xboxes in the bargain bin were not expensive, second hand ones (if you're that way inclined) even less so at the time.

Also don't you have to pay for Ouya games??

How the did you get "burned"? Didn't know you weren't supposed to go online?
How is it crap? I think PS2>Xbox in terms of games, but the PS2 could never perform those tricks among many others as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry, my gripe actually goes further than what we've discussed. Allow me to elaborate...

1) Years ago Nintendo stated all old games on the Wii network/ VC/ etc would be free... They're not.
2) Years later they have one Nintendo store for the Wii, Wii U, 3DS, there's still no cross platform capability, you have to buy games multiple times on each console (not to mention the 3ds is region locked but that's a rant for another time)... Lame
3) Now Nintendo has created a user ID for ALL their online stores which still has no cross-platform.... Heap of shit*

*So far the only saving grace of (3) is if you've downloaded something and your console breaks under warranty (or not) you don't have to rebuy the games/ wait for a Nintendo service centre to fix your console... Still a heap of shit.

This is coming from a hardcore Nintendo fan who bought literally every console (bar the Wii U and Virtual Boy) and a shit tonne of games.
I love them, but when it comes to online they need to get their shit together.. Freeman knows what I'm on about all too well.

Burned as in bought console and it red ringed. That's why 360 sold more than PlayStation 2. Half the people that got one had to buy the damn thing twice. ????????

Most games are free on ouya. All of the emulators are free.

Pisces I know the problem you speak of. It has to do with the wifi signal. It's was only a problem with the first ouyas, not the black ones. I had the problem too.

Turning off wifi while playing, or connecting directly to your router help big time. I only had the problem while playing with 2 or more controllers at once. Turning wifi off always fixes for me though when. We had the problem with bomb squad parties but that fixed it.

Have you tried bomb squad? It's great.

Well the whole RROD was what put me off buying a 360, even though EB were returning consoles on behalf of the consumer at the time because THEY wanted it to sell higher numbers. but I don't know why people would not be returning consoles unless they weren't covered by warranty?
Plus the 360 Elite solved most of those older issues.

I've gotten the YLOD or something similar on my PS3 but I'm really talking 3 times ever and it's been at really odd occurrences like an update that took too long.. I don't regard it as a thing as it's always worked after and never lost information. I'm a Sony guy more so than MS so will probably buy a PS4 at some point.

Haven't tried bomb squad.
