Hi! The above image is of a keychain based on Gabriel's Combat Cross (as you guys obviously already know) and I have literally been scouring the internet for over a year looking for this thing.. If this post goes against the rules are is deemed in bad taste i will take it down.. But i'm desperate
I'm getting my first and only tattoo of the cross in December and have collected every known thing i can get my hands on from Lords of Shadow.. i know the game wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but it resonated with me at my lowest point in life and gave me the courage i needed to face my own inner demons..
I have exhausted all options of purchasing this through a retailer as EVERYWHERE that sold it online is "out of stock".. I have checked Ebay literally almost every day since i started this mad quest to find it and it would appear one hasn't been sold since 2013.. I've checked foreign vendors and have gotten my credit card info stolen twice purchasing from sketchy sites..
If anyone here has one and wouldn't mind parting ways with it for some cash (through PayPal), it would mean the world to me..
Thank you all for listening and regardless how this turn out i'll be sticking around!
cheers

Hi McKnightMare, I've searched quite a few websites and turned up nothing thus far. (including ebay and ozgameshop)
But I did find this link http://www.toywiz.com/cvmetalkeycross.html (http://www.toywiz.com/cvmetalkeycross.html) where they can email you if they restock that product.
Hope this helps, and welcome to the CVD forum.

			-
thanks for your reply zangetsu! I'm on several waiting lists including this one but it would appear GE stopped making the keychain all together :/
I fear i'm becoming the bane of the Castlevania sub on Reddit.com as well as the GameSale subreddit since i'm constantly posting there hoping someone new will see and be willing to part with theirs.. i'm genuinely surprised by how difficult this thing has been to track down

			-
				You're welcome.
It wouldn't be impossible to track down, have you tried websites like craigslist?
At this stage it seems that a second hand one is your best bet. Given LOS' status I wouldn't think it was likely that the company who produces them would make more.
I will be sure to keep a look out for you, especially at gaming shops at markets where vendors tend to sell trinkets, jewellery and such.

That would be awesome of you! And i've tried Craiglist to no avail.. I figured Ebay would be my best bet as it's a buyer's market and i'd be more likely to find the individual keychain up for sale.. but no dice :(

I had the same issue with a game in the past. Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, the only non-Dreamcast console game to contain SFIII Third Strike. Nowhere online had it, the game was not being made and I even contacted Capcom who informed me no further pressings of the game were being made or distributed, this was back in 2006-2007.
I ended up finding one at EB Games, it was even local to me. It was brand new, in the seal.
Suffice to say, your day will come.  :)
Best of luck!

that's the thing, i'm sure there's one sitting in some hole in the wall comics shop somewhere *sigh*
thanks for listening brother!

Yeah, it does seem pretty hard to track down. You know, though, have you considered making a custom one? There are at least pictures of it floating around, so you might get a jeweler or metalsmith to make you one. Our very own Jorge D. Fuentes is a jeweler! :D While he might be too busy or too far away to help you, you could ask any metalworkers or jewelers in your area if they could make a custom Combat Cross keychain. It might be expensive, but it also might be more doable than finding something that's out of print.

Either this or go to a retailer/ someone private with a 3d printer? There'd be a 3ds/ nurbs model of the combat cross floating around somewhere.

Yeah, that's why i've come to terms with the fact that if i DO get my hands on one it will be second hand (which is absolutely fine, as long as it looks decent).. While the collector in me wants it to be the "official" one.. i'm quite sure a metalworker could make one infinitely cooler.. Definitely might have to look into this soon as this thing continues to evade me.. thanks!

You can have the option of getting a silver one from a metalworker. Silver is inexpensive.

I was about to suggest something similar. If I am not mistaken Jorge got access to the tools to make stuff like this a while back. Maybe OP could ask him?

Please refer to this thread for Jorge's Jewelry commissions.
If I made Castlevania Jewelry... would you buy it? (http://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/index.php/topic,7990.msg178320.html#msg178320)
PM him for more info. I'm sure he'll be happy to make you one.

				Okay, a few things:
1. I have that keychain.
2. You don't need anything fancy for this.  The company I work for can easily mold this and add a jump ring, turning it into a Keychain/pendant.
3. If you're serious, I can inquire, possibly on Monday (if I find my own piece) for some Castings.  In order for it to look more the keychain, it's going to require some Black Antique and Satin Finish touches after casting.

All of this sounds absolutely amazing..my main goal was to wear the keychain as a pendant since it's the perfect size on a leather necklace I already have.. Forgive my complete lack of knowledge of metals but I'll try to explain what I'm shooting for:
1) I don't want it to be very shiny.. The more dull the better!
2) not sure how much of a factor this will be in metal type but I'll be wearing the thing daily, also bonus if it can get wet frequently
This has me excited on a level you cannot imagine as I'm emberassed by the amount of man hours I've devoted to finding this blasted keychain

Silver wears really well, and if it does tarnish in time (we use TruSilver Deox, a type of silver that does not tarnish due to the alloy, so it shouldn't), it will still look great, since the keychain itself looks worn and tarnished.
It would not be shiny.  Part of the process used to remove the Black Antique process requires satining, meaning the piece gets rubbed with a fine-grade sandpaper or a steel wool high-speed brush, so it would generate a matte, opaque finish, like when you see streaks on Steel.
You'd be more likely to wear out the jumpring and bail of the piece rather than damaging the piece or yourself.  I will see about making strong jumprings and/or bails for it, but no promises there.  You can always re-tighten the jump ring/bail should it ever fall out.  Water should not be a problem.

I'm beyond sold.. Any idea on a general price range for such an endeavor?

				Good news!
I found my Combat Cross Keychain.
I will inquire tomorrow about using it to create a Mold, from which we can create some Castings for anyone who might be interested.
Now that I have it on-hand, I will also inquire about an estimate quote.
Do you need the chain to go with the Cross?  We normally don't provide the chain, but we may be able to get ahold of some for this sort of thing.
I will give more updates, tomorrow.

All I need is the cross! I'm stoked out of my mind, thank you for looking into this..

It's looking like it's gonna be $45-55 for a Silver piece, not including Shipping.
That's an estimate.

Ok, should be able to come up with that without issue, how do we go about moving forward?

I went and had a mold made.
I also requested two castings (because I want one for myself, bwahahah).
Once the labor is done, I will post a picture of the finished product.
If you like what you see, you can send me a payment through Paypal, along with your address, and I will ship it.
Hopefully it's not International Shipping...

Sounds fantastic, I'm in the US and have PayPal.. So happy I found you brother, any guesstimate on a timeframe of when you think it'll be finished? Also where you able to verify if it would have that matte/worn finish you were talking about? Oh! And will the top of the cross have a hoop of some sort to run a necklace through? Sorry about all the last minute questions

			-
I will take a picture of it once it's completed on my end.
The original keychain had a loop through which you could run a cord...
...however, I will also have a bail casted and assembled in, so you can run a proper cord or chain.
It's probably gonna be completed next week.

				Update:
So here's the original Steel Cross Keychain (minus the jump ring and lobsterclaw for the keys).
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjorgefuentes.inverteddungeon.com%2Fimages3%2Fcross%2Fsteelcross.jpg&hash=58c710d32bb40bc410d6353a45ae0e73b9684fac)
And currently, here are the two Silver Castings.  They're still dirty, straight out of the molds.

I imagine sometime next week, they'll be BlackAntiqued and smooth-finished.  Pics will follow, then.

				Update:
A jeweler applying the Satin Finish on the Black Antiqued Silver Cross.
You will notice that it looks almost identical to the Steel sample.  This is awesome, because it's actually a Precious Metal version.
It'll work on Werewolves, too since it's Silver, bwahaha.
The casting even managed to keep the "KDE" stamp from Konami so it's a near-replica.
(https://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjorgefuentes.inverteddungeon.com%2Fimages3%2Fcross%2Fsilvercross.jpg&hash=bd81f13cb364581a498473af8a66e4d7a706744f)
Sometime in the next few days when the Bails are casted, we will apply them to the Cross castings and then stamp a Silver 925 stamp (with my LASER), and then we can talk about how you'll pay for one. :P
Oh, and I kept the mold...
...so... if anyone else wants one, they should contact me.

Oh my it's everything is hoped it would be and more.. I feel like I'm waiting on my child to be born! lol Did you arrive upon a definite price?

			-
I gotta see how much the bail castings, bail labor, and assembly end up costing before I arrive at that.
It's still gonna be between $45-55 (not including shipping), most likely.
Also, it's possible to make this in 14K Gold as well, but the metal cost obviously would be different (higher).

Ok fantastic, I get paid Friday and so I'll go ahead and transfer the funds to my Paypal or go ahead and pay you then if you know the final price by then.. I know I sound like a broken record but thank you so much brother, after a year and a half of searching almost literally every day, what were the chances of stumbling upon you.. A fellow Castlevania fan with the skills and means to make me something So much cooler than a keychain

Beautiful job on this! I had one of the original ones, but the bail broke.  I gave it to a good friend, since I couldn't put on my keychain.  I am interested, and sent you a PM.
To OP, I too have been scouring the nets looking for a replacement.  This one is even better.  What luck, to find not only the cross, but someone skilled enough, and with a good heart to help. ;D

Crosses and hearts are a big part of what makes Castlevania so good ;)

I also never understood why the 64 series traded hearts for diamonds. probably easier to create with polygons.

I'm keeping one (and will probably wear it at MAGFest this weekend), and the other is already on its way to TheMcKnightmare's place.

I hope you like it!

The same reason Bloodlines did this? :P :P :P :P :P
They probably just wanted them to stand out more.  They could've done sprited hearts like how LoI did it, or like how Zelda games had them (just detailed sprites on a transparent polygon).
And yes, I totally have the Duplicator. ;)

Impressive craftsmanship.  It has a holy gleam, more bright than the original.  I do wonder if it is as sharp on the points as original?  That sucker literally cut and poked holes in my skin on more than one occasion.  I used to imagine it was truly Gabriel's, as it was both elegant, yet had a dark side/thirst for blood.
Side note: On the dash of my pickup truck is a half-moons shape of a million dots where it repeatedly struck it on every bump and mash of the brakes!

I'm not into that. By that logic I should bring soap on a staircase into the shower with me..
