What happened to his right shoulder in the second pic? #straightouttatetris
Just kidding. That'd probably be REALLY hard to do. And in all seriousness, while the concept is cool, the sprites themselves look a bit wonky. The lack of a right arm in the first pic, but still seeing his shoulder, kinda makes it look like his arm is behind him and he's doing something like scratch his butt or pulling out a wedgie. The second screen just seems kinda strange, though it is mid-animation, and I'd rather see it in motion before really commenting on it.
The first sprite you mention is the same Arikado stance from the real AOS game, did you dislike Arikado's stance from the orginal AOS game?

That being said, that doesn't mean the sprite can't be polished.
Yeah those are the original sprites, mostly.
His stance in AoS is very weird. Sort of something you'd see in KoF or Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
Cool. 95% done!
What does he do that Soma doesn't?
I like the change you made.
Are you asking have a changed core gameplay elements and features to give him new abilities?
If so than sadly I am not advanced enough to hack this game in a manner to where I can give him new abilities Soma did not have.
Guess you could say, he's a hack... *waits for drumroll*
That was terrible in my mind before I even wrote it. 8)
Do you know of a hacker around here who can change core gameplay elements within Aria of Sorrow by any chance?
hey yeah! this great! ;D You can also change one Soma´s transformation for the gargoyle that Alucard becomes sotn? please xD
hey hello DarkPrinceAlucard, as is everything? jajaja ;D
This hack is looking really good! :D
Those are all still with a filter...
Everything is blurred out. Are you resizing them, perhaps?
It may not have the Visualboy 'Filters' on, but the renderer being used is still blurring it out, thus creating what resembles a filter.
THIS is what a non-filtered, non-blurry GBA picture is supposed to look like:

Maybe, as I said, you're resizing them in the emulator or in the web browser or something?
This is the same picture, resized:

If it's difficult to see the pixel squares, it's filtered. Maybe it's the renderer filtering it (switch from DirectDraw to something else, I know DirectDraw often blurs out the shots but it varies upon your graphics adapter), maybe it's a filter you aren't aware it's on, but it's definitely in your pics.
Thanks.
But do YOU see the difference between your pictures and mine?
Ahhhh, now THAT's the stuff.
Looks glorious.
The pause menu still has Soma's pic instead of Genya's.
How does the dialogue change now that one is Genya?

oooh man i loviu!! jajajaja ok no, but thanks for thiiis!! thanks thanks jajajaja xD, and latter send you the pm for the others sprites... i fixed the sizes of pixels in one or two weeks, no problem DarkPrince, thanks man
The two Genyas in the intro is what I'm awaiting to see getting solved
as for the dialogue I never knew how to change ingame dialogue within the game anyway, but if you know of a way I'd be more than happy to learn and add such features.
There aren't two genyas, I removed the other so its only one ingame.
If I can chip in here, you can do that with an any hex editor of your choice. All the text in Aria is saved as ASCII data inside the RAM, so you can simply open the ROM in the hex editor, and write on top of the text whatever you wish and it'll appear in the game.
Beware the text sizes, though. Everything you write must be more or less the size of what is already written, due to how the code for paragraphs is handled. I never discovered how to edit that. It basically reads like a period, but it's an hex command that, if you move around, screws all the rest.
What...? What happened to the other Genya o.O ?
So if Soma never shows would Alucard fight Graham only or would he fight Chaos?
How about an alternate where Soma doesn't defeat Chaos and Alucard has to fight him?
The first option is better for me. Let Alucard fight both, just for fun gaming reasons.
As for the second one, if Soma doesn't defeat Chaos, aren't we going to the default bad end where Soma becomes Dracula?
Would you consider doing regular Alucard? Since the game is SOTN like anyway I think a hack to play as him would make sense. Anapan8 made a hack some years ago but it was pretty choppy and unfinished.
Hi, I'm Ken.
Please forgive my bad english (my
Mother tongue is chinese)
Few days ago I play your hack found some mistake(walking actions deviate), another else some
image wasn't perfect.
After that I try my best to correct these mistake and add some element of SOTN(item Image etc.).
Are you have other contact method? we can discuss about this hack.
I will reply your youtube viedo, you can contact me there.
Thank you very much.
