I haven't really gotten excited about GTA in a long time, but from everything I'm hearing about this one, it may be one of the best games of all time. New RE4 style aiming system, a robust physics engine, intense and unique story, and a depth that includes IT'S OWN VERSION OF THE INTERNET, this could be amazing.
Spoilers on the depth of the game

not me.... i'll probably rent it? maybe...

I haven't really cared about GTA for a while, but this game does look amazing.
I'll probably wait for a price deduction or two.

You know... the only thing I really like about GTA (and haven't gotten bored of yet) is the radio in the cars. That monkey radio show freakin owned. But I've gotten bored of the random killing a long time ago.
-
Than why not play the missions. The actual part of the game you're supposed to play.
-
I did, I got bored of that before the random killing, it was that that drove me to random killing which drove me to getting as high as possible stars, and all the while stealing cars to listen to the monkey show!

yeah gt4 looks good. Can't wait for it.

Hell yeah!
I just wonder which version I should pick up. I honestly don't care about the extra downloadable content the 360 will have, cause I'm just not hardcore like that. In my experience the GTA games are pretty damn overwhelming just the way they are.
But other than that I really like how quiet my PS3 is, so that may be the reason I'm leaning towards the PS3 version. Crazy but true. The 360 is quite possibly the loudest console I've ever owned. It's alright for some games, but while playing through the likes of Eternal Sonata and Lost Odyssey I was like: STFU I'M TRYING TO GET IN THE MOOD HERE!
So yeah, anyway. GTA4 looks very cool.

I'm psyched. GTA games get better and better. True masterpieces of detail and limitless fun.

IGN: "Without question, Grand Theft Auto IV is the best game since Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time."

Sheesh. Time to pick up a ps3.

Having multiplayer GTA is enough for me to get it, San Andreas had it, but not to the extent that GTAIV does

GTA4 is Grand Theft Auto perfected. They took everything from the old series, and tweaked it all slightly to make it better and perfect.
I've only played the 360 one so far, and I have no complaints except for 2 things: I'm not used to the Xbox controls at all, and sometimes when you're flying in your cars the Xbox can't pick up the pace and load fast enough, things get right blocky and / or crap dissapears for a a few seconds then comes back. This did happened in the old GTA's too and it's not really noticeable.
I was also going to test out the PS3 versions to do a little comparing to see if the PS3 could keep up with the loading of areas when going at top-speed in the nicest cars, but never got a chance. I'm gonna read up on that site to see what comparisons they did.
Alright, so I read up on some comparisons they did. The PS3 version doesn't have random pop-ups of cars appearing out of nowhere when going at top-speeds, and they basically said the PS3 versions color palette is a little nicer, and that things are a little more crisper. Interesting.

The only downside to the Ps3 version is that it isn't really in Hi-Def. While the 360 version runs at 720p, the Ps3 is optimized to run at 630p, which is pretty much semi hd. Still, if you don't need the sharpest image, the Ps3 may serve justice with less pop-ins and so on.
