Amidst all my stress at work... I forgot to pre-order this last May. /bummer
But all hope was not lost, when a video game shop posted that they already have the figures available last Thursday, I quickly called up a branch to see if they can allocate one for me. The first branch said that all of the stocks they have left are for those who pre-ordered. They suggested that I call up the second branch.
The second branch had an extra figure they can sell me and I told them to keep it on hold until Saturday. They originally said that they can only hold an item for 24 hours but with a little pleading and saying that I'll pay in cash, they conceded.
So Saturday came and I dropped by. The store personnel had to open up the cardboard shipping box and I got the first Noctis out of the bunch. Since I paid in cash, I got a discount from the SRP. Wheeeeeee~! :D
I'll be keeping it in the box for now. I still have to find a place for it.
Update: Pictures!

Hooray for you! :-)
(I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about...but nonetheless I'm glad it worked out for ya'!)

Thanks
This toy

It's still on pre-order status for citizens of the US and Europe.

When I pre-ordered FFXV, I was REALLY tempted to shoot for the $250 version since among all the goodies it came with was this figure. Ultimately, though, it was just nowhere in my budget so I went for the $90 version (so I don't get the Brotherhood Blu-Ray or the PAK figure, sadly. Or some other DLC stuff).
When you find a place for it, take some pics! I haven't seen any up-close shots of the figure so it'd be cool to look at.
-
The only difference this regular PAK version has from the $250 version is this one has 2 swords and the more expensive one has an exclusive spear and a sword (this is similar to one of those in the regular version).
As for the Brotherhood anime, I just watched it on youtube from the official channel.
If you really want some close up shots now, there are some unboxing videos on youtube. It looks the same as those. :)
Noct even in figure form is so hansamu. (♥_♥) I think I now want to keep it mint in box. hahahaha.
-
Congrats, play Arts are awesome.
I've got Vincent from FFVII/ DoC and Nero from DMC4.
I'd seriously keep it boxed, those things are worth a bomb to the right person.
-
Right. Thanks for the advice.
I'm keepin' it MIB (mint in box).

Just as an example (even though it's hyperbole) there were some collectors sets of FFXV for about 1000 USD. I'm convinced these weren't even real collectors editions, but custom made boxed sets that a few select sellers were gathering all the components (FFXV games, artbooks, play arts etc) to sell at grossly inflated prices.
Suffice to say nobody has to commit robbery, but these things are in high demand :)
-
Well, they might be running on supercharged hype fumes.
I just got this PAK because I'm getting a far better deal than having to travel to Japan to get it there.
Although I still want the silver jewelry they are selling. And I can't get one anytime soon. grrrr....
My black sephiroth ring needs a friend. hahahahaha.

Oh yeah, that's definitely not a real collector's edition. The only official collector's edition from Square Enix cost about 250 USD, which is almost 4x lower of a price.
I do agree about keeping it in the box, though. Aside from the value the object could have later on down the line, it's just easier to keep it safe if it remains in the box.

I'm sure they're getting high and delirious off the fumes blistering out of the hype train that is FFXV.
I was thinking about a bundle but I didn't think it merited $250 USD.
I actually picked up the game for $50 AUD pre-ordered so I was fine with that price for the game.

Yeah. Most of my toys are kept in box and they are stored in even larger boxes. :P

Squeenix needs the money after that game stayed in development hell for a long long time.
I did not even pre-order the game knowing that I won't have the time to play it. I'll just rely on youtube cut scene compilations. Might pick it up once it goes to the bargain bin.

They should make a Play Arts Kai figure of Stella just to spite themselves.
-
@Shiroi: You can shot some photos of it in the box (if this photo shows another toys nearby its even better hahaha)?
-
Just in case anyone is interested in seeing it, the photos are attached in the first post.
-
I like the details on his face and outfit, also that alpaca... :P
-
Yup. That's what moved me to buy him. PAK figures are really detailed.
Hahaha, that alpaca was on sale for 100 yen when I saw it last year. It just so happened to be nearby.
-
The detailing of playarts are so dreamy ;D
Figurines these days are dope. I've been meaning to collect the A Link Between Worlds 'Link' figures. Alas, price tags are no friend of mine at this time.
-
True. With great detailing comes great prices. Sigh, it is no longer possible to collect them all; when all other things your money can go to are considered.
