Title: Castlevania Dracula X - With MSU-1 support hack
Post by: MooMilk on November 12, 2016, 10:44:23 PM
Drakon said he won't release this hack, but check out his hack anyway:

It features the tracks from the pc-engine game. IMO it sounds like the best of these types of hacks. It already has properly remixed tracks and there should be no awkard or terrible remixes among them.

Someone released a SNES9x emulator with MSU-1 support, so if someone else makes this hack, then you'll be able to play this without a beefy pc.

Ah I remember Drakon and his hot glue... Good old days these were.

Anyway, it'd be interesting to see this released to the public, but there isn't much point beyond listening to good music.

Yeah, someone else with the hacking knowledge could recreate this exactly. What Drakon should have did was incorperated the FMV from ROB too.

I aways liked the SNES OST more, seems stronger Than the PC ENGINE version to me.

Same here. The worst of the PCE OST was their rendition of Vampire killer. That horrible gap in the tune just ruins the flow of the music. At least in the SNES version it's no longer an issue.

Well, that isn't totally true. Den (last stage music) is a good example, it sounds a lot better on PC Engine.

I'm a fan of the SNES version of Opposing Bloodlines.
In addition, I like the "Foreboding Pre-Battle" music in the SNES version more than the PC-E version (even though it was only use for the first stage's boss).
Lastly, I agree about that 'gap' in music in Vampire Killer.  I like that it's not there in the SNES version, even if the music composition is better in the PC-E version.

As for all the other tracks, the PC-E versions are nicer, overall.

Especially the tracks that never made it over to the SNES. Those were some good tracks. And it's a shame we never got to hear them.
