A new game called Bomberman R is coming to Nintendo Switch, I thought I would never see a Bomberman game again on any console, thankfully I was wrong! ;D
We can notice some returning characters from Super bomberman 2, 3 and Saturn.
While its not enough to say it really show that they've changed their mindset, it atleast shows that Konami isn't focusing only on Pachinko (also its funny how they are commemorating Bomberman 33rd anniversary, usually I only see companies doing games with stamps like that every 5 years or so, rounded by 5 lol).

Why play that when I can play all the older Bombermans and my thousands of other games? New gaming sucks.

Never really got into bomberman. I tried it once a long time ago, but it never stuck with me. The only Konami games that did stick with me were Contra and Castlevania. Konami's gotta try harder.

That made me laugh, because it sounds like him and because he could be right too. We don't know if this game will feature a "beatable" single player mode yet and its a must to be a true Super Bomberman game, preferably with a 2 players story mode.

I would say if anything Nintendo is doing the right things by reaching out to their old friends Konami and Capcom (Ultra SF II was announced for the Nintendo Switch).

Out of all the people to revive Bomberman, it's Konami? I'm gonna have to rethink things for awhile...

Here are few Konami franchises. - Castlevania - Metal gear - Silent Hill - Gradius and more.
Let's hope they get the same treatment with a franchise that wasn't even made by Konami.

Starts at 2:14:15 mark, they've confirmed Story Mode with Co-op and cutscenes. That means that it isnt just a game for multiplayer like the Wii one and that they really put effort in this one instead of slapping the name on a barebones game.
I can't say that I like how the camera goes in some parts, its tilted/rotated in a strange way. What I like is that some stages aren't focused in only killing all enemies so this will bring new and hopefully good things to the game.
What brings some worry is that "gems" currency thing, I know that you can earn it in-game and is only for cosmetics and continues, but I think they are ommiting something and it will be like in mobile games, where you can pay to get gems. If they plan to continue adding content AND its already a full game without cut content, cool, go for it. Otherwise we have a problem here.
On Multiplayer mode we can see that special abilities are back and can be turned off, that is cool because I loved this in PS1's Bomberman Party Edition. Yet, it seems you aren't able to choose what type of items will spawn and that is a shame, it was fun to toggle what items would spawn and create some crazy scenarios like a battle with a lot of weak bombs or a skull hell. I can see in the video that they have the Boxing Gloves and Grab Gloves in this game so its a plus.
Also no animal buddies? That is a lost chance, maybe on Super Bomberman R3 we can have them joining the party xD

If its Super Bomberman "R", where is Sailor Moon or Heart/Pink Bomber? :P)

The fact that Konami's making a game at all is pretty amazing. I was convinced they were going to transition from Metal Gear Survive to being as horrible as humanly possible full time.

So, there's still some hope for Konami.
Maybe if this game does good enough, they'll think "hey, don't we own a lot of different videogame properties? maybe if we made games on them we could make some money!"

Hell, they could just make a bunch of games for the Switch as "revival" titles for old IPs.
Bomberman is a start. But what about stuff like say... Goemon? Or Boktai?

I'll wait and see how this whole gems thing plays out. If it's a system designed to eke out more money from players, that's ridiculous considering it's looking to be priced around $50–60. Maybe the retail version will be free of that nonsense and the download is free-to-play unless you buy a full unlock?

Whatever gets Konami making games again, AF. Whatever keeps the games coming.

Nintendo needs to convince Konami to re-release a whole new classic Castlevania game. An 8 bit game, with the feeling of CVI, open world of CV II, actual bosses, and the multiple selectable hero's similar to CV III. #pipedreams #makeithappen

Super Bomberman was one of my all time favorite Bomberman games! This has me pretty excited from what little I've seen of this so far.

I just don't wanna hit a Game Over screen and be asked to pay 99 cents for another continue. That mobile gaming crap can stay out of muh console games.

But what we need is all CV series re-realeased with Kojima Ayami artwork, HD graphics with all newly created sprites/3d models and better story quality. Will be epic then.

HD in this case would mean "shittily redrawn" (see Mighty Switch Force 3DS vs. Wii U). I'll stick with the beautiful pixel art.

As a side note, remember how Konami insisted that "mobile gaming is the future of the industry" and then hilariously failed to produce mobile games (https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=KONAMI)*?
What a hoot that one was. Good joke, Konami.
*no seriously they have such a Spartan lineup it's not even funny. Except it kind of is.
