Title: Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana coming west in 2017 for PS4, Vita, and PC

Unfortunately, XSEED won't be localizing it this time, but NIS is the next best thing. Really surprised they're porting it to PC, though. Get hype!

No XSEED? Aw... Are they swamped with other projects?

A friend of mine on another forum said it might be because NIS is better with multiplatform releases, as I think they're aiming to go with PS4, Steam, etc. for Ys VIII.

I see. That's a legit reason.

XSEED is really swamped, yeah, so if they got Ys VIII, we likely wouldn't see it until next year at the very earliest. The fact that we're getting Ys VIII PS4 the same year it's releasing in Japan is incredible.

It's a bummer, though. XSEED delivers some of the best localizations I've seen in a long time. That Trails of Cold Steel localization and dub... Hnnnng

Also, I want to point out that Falcom confirmed on Facebook that the game will be dual audio in all western releases, featuring both English and Japanese voice acting. NIS getting it means Dual Audio could happen since they could likely afford both.

I didn't see that either, but hey, I'm surprised in a great way.

The fact it's coming to PC is a huge surprise. I'd just about given up on any more PC Ys games, but hey, the more the merrier. I'm still prioritizing the PS4 version, but I know I'm gonna wind up grabbing both the Vita and PC versions eventually, as well. Ys is god-tier stuff, man.

Well, Celceta is now translated on PC (It's a Joyoland port, so means of getting it are slim picking), Of Course there are other means to get it if you don't want to Taobao gamble (which I have $20 flaoting on an account somewhere because I couldn't buy the PC version of Seven.

I don't really count the Chinese ports simply because they're usually REALLY bad. I've had a few friends who managed to grab MoC and they've all unanimously agreed they're abysmal ports. NIS hasn't had a good track record with ports either, but at least they're decent.

Yeah.... I mean once Xinput and Mipmapping is fixed, it'll be decent (Translated, Restored English Dubs). But I'm just happy to play it at this point, and Since all the Ys games are playable on PC now, that makes me rather happy.

Going back to Ys 8, I don't quite understand it's performance issues on PS4, since it REALLY resembles PSO2 and That game is what I classify as a technical Marvel in terms of performance.

Does Ys 8 have performance issues on PS4? It was my understanding it's not even out yet in Japan.

It's out for the PS Vita.  Kaz, maybe you're referring to that version?

Sorry, yeah, It's comparing the PS4 to Vita Version, still... I think the Vita version should pack a punch, then again, Given how Celecta was mapped and the camera angels, it made sense to be 30fps locked.

Speaking of performance, I wonder how it would be handled on a low-end PC, I have no problem with a Current gen mid range, but I am getting a GPD Win before the end of the month, I was wondering if I could enjoy some Handheld Cloud save action.
