Bloodstained's Miriam is more of an Alucard/Shanoa successor.

but Forsaken Castle's Lily is more of a Belmont successor, being a whip specialist   ^.^

its cool there's more open castle exploration game.  the art direction is pretty decent and not really chibi, she actually has more natural proportions than some other games.

Cool! At least the main protagonist is better dressed then Kokoro Belmont from Parodius was  :P  And sadly that's saying something.

Looks pretty cute. Considering the graphics style, I keep expecting there to be pornographic cutscenes like in a PC-98 game, lol.

I'll keep an eye on it. I'm not pledging unless it looks likely it'll at least reach the PS4 stretch goal.

This makes me wonder if Mig and I might be able to run a successful Kickstarter campaign for Wallachia Reign of Dracula.

We could do a lot more with even a modest budget.

eh, this game looks too bland and derivative of it's inspiration for me to support it. everything just screams "royalty-free castlevania". same enemies, same weapons, same looking environments and even the boss looks like a rip-off of death's symphony of the night design. the only new stuff that i could note are the fireball spell, which doesn't even seem all that interesting, and the gameplay being a more fleshed out version of a metriod-vania's belmont mode and even then, it doesn't take much to think, "maybe we should add items and power-ups so there's an actual reason to explore." sound effects lack any oomph to them and some seem to be missing, such as there being no "woosh" sound for sliding. then the music sounds generic and uninspired, adding more to the game's un-originality by invoking the symphonic metal used in later pre-LOS castlevanias. and finally, the cutesy character designs are like same cutesy shit you'd see again and again from any indie platformer these days.

"castlevania gets a little cuter with forsaken castle", yes, but that's not enough to win me over when even free fan games like lecarde chronicles 2 are more ambitious and original than a game you'd have to pay for.
