As in the Xbox One X. As in the acronym for the new system is the name of the brand. lolwtf
that shit's simultaneously worse and better than the Wii U name.

gotta admit +1 on MS on that one, it's both lazy and damn clever.
If this is an overall improvement... AND works, it can easily give Sony a run for it's money. Long live the competition! (it just means better games for all)
EDIT: After looking into it, it's even better!
Original Xbox Games Confirmed!

Just hope MS gets their shit together. XB1 was disappointing. Glad we're getting OG XB compatibility too!

XBoner isn't all that old, yet now they're trying to come out with a new system? And from the title of this thread they can't name it well either. I dunno. Maybe they're trying to redeem themselves by bringing out a system that won't be nearly as complicated as the XBoner was in order to win back their fans. Personally I don't see how much more advanced they can make this system compared to the previous one. If they really wanted to wow the fans it would be a console of the truest sense; with no security hoop-jumping and reverse-compatibility for the 360 and original Xbox games. But this is Microshaft we're talking about here. There not gonna do it for us.

LOL at the name. Scorpio should have been a better choice but alas, it is just the project name.
So, what do we call it now, just Xbox.... boo.
-
I think 'XBOX' is clever, but they could've called it something like XBox "Eon" or "Neo" ("One" scrambled) to give it's own distinct title. Scorpio reminds me too much of that Simpsons episode haha.
-
Yeah. I agree. Eon or Neo would be cool.
Or they should have just called it Xbox Two/Too. It is so much more punny.

The Xbox One name is already weird. It's not a numeral 1, it's as in the phrase "all-in-one." Slapping an X at the end of an already ridiculous name is absurd. On top of that, there's also an Xbox One S; X and S sound very similar.
What's disappointing to me is I thought Scorpio was gonna be a brand new console, not essentially a more powerful take on the PS4 Pro. MS said there will be no XBO-X exclusives, so even though it can output at 4K resolution, all that extra power likely won't be used toward higher quality art assets, unless games are built for 4K and then textures are downsampled to 1080p for older XBO systems. It's just such a joke. BUT OH LOOK IT CAN PLAY OG XBOX GAMES, WOOPEE!

What about 360?? If it plays OG Xbox and 360 that could potentially sway me.

If they get rid of their BS security features as well then I might consider this system a buy. But I'm not hoping for anything from Mircoshaft.

Xbox One has had 360 backward compatibility for a while, meng. Games generally run better than on 360, too (e.g. Killer Is Dead no longer has constant headache-inducing screen tearing).
All I really want for original Xbox back-compat is Conker: Live & Reloaded. Half the game the original is, but it's a neat remake anyway. Then I'll be one step closer to being able to get rid of my 360, once games like Asura's Wrath, Lollipop Chainsaw, and Nier get added to the list.
