Apparently according to some people "in the know" there were/are builds of the game with fixed cameras and FPS gameplay.
I want the former so bad. SO BAD.
I'll bet your a$$ it's selectable as an extra "classic" mode once the game is completed.

Took awhile for them to remake this game. I haven't bought 7 but this one I'll definitely buy.

RE2 is definitely the game I am most excited about this E3. REmake is one of my favorite games ever, and I also loved RE2 back in the day. From what I can tell from the trailer, the game wont have the classic-style RE gameplay, but I'm excited regardless.
Day one purchase for me.

I guess all we need now is a remake of RE's 3 and Code Veronica and we'll all be caught up.

Claire looks too different. and capcom is probably gonna be too asshole to include classic skin of Claire with her original costume and hairstyle.
seems only the PC version could have that.
anyways, not so hyped about it, even RE1 Remake had its limits and its too linear and predictable to care to play it these days.
Zombie Army Trilogy still has the greatest zombies, co-op and campaigns in the genre. I play that more than any RE game, except perhaps the Outbreak games.

Gameplay video looks fantastic, couldn't be more excited.
That being said, I never got the full RE2 experience. My cousin let me borrow only one of the discs back in the day, so I couldn't play the alternate campaign with the second character. I nabbed a copy of RE2 on the PSN store not long ago, I should really try to give it a go before this remake arrives in January.

I had the opposite experience when it was re-released on modern consoles. It was years since I played REmake, so I wasn't sure how I would like it now, but after playing it again I feel like I appreciate it now more than ever. I don't think its the best game in the series, but its definitely my favorite, and the setting is unforgettable. I love running around in that creepy mansion.

I would definitely recommend going through the original first. The original is easily one of my favorite games of all time and, even for people who've never played the series, I think it's a game that deserves to be played.
Hell, in celebration, I'm probably gonna replay it myself.

I kinda want them to just eventually redo the whole series with this darker and more gritty tone that they've adopted with RE7 and RE2make. I'm really loving it.

...REmake was literally almost a shot-for-shot of every layout in the original game, and Mikami went on record stating that REmake is what he'd have liked the original to have been without PSX limitations
what the fuck are you smoking?
oh right, you're smoking "subpar multiplayer games are actually the best thing" juice, my bad
(yeah, i know, i fed the troll, but it's such a low-effort troll that it should be written up by its supervisors)

Don't pass the bucket, it's clearly low-grade gunja..
Affinity, how can you state REmake is too predictable yet you're penalising REmake2 for what exactly? The Racoon City Police Dept has been completely redesigned, the game is an unseen OTS format for RE2, the horror will impact the player differently to the original, what more can fans of the original and new games alike ask for.. Yeeeesh.

I think it's interesting they're bringing back a bunch of elements from RE1.5. Namely the shutter system and the original 1.5 design for Mr. X, so far. On top of that, Claire is getting an Elza Walker alternate costume. I wonder if they'll actually buff up Marvin and Kendo's roles.
