PoR was promoted with lots of kawaii and wide assortment
of artwork from its employees and stuff! ;D
surely they'll do it again for Order of Ecclesia! :)
more kawaii chibi art would be wonderful too! ;D
the promotional art became a treasure in itself. never
seen anything like it for any other game, with as much
heart and fun! :)
-
I'll like to see some kind of bonus with the new game or at least some cool artwork at the official site!

Heh, that started with Curse. Yeah, I'd like to see them have some sort of promotion with this, considering how large it's supposed to be.
-
I thought it started with Dawn of Sorrow.
-
You're both wrong! It started with LoI with the CD Sampler!

I certainly hope so! The more CV artwork, the better, IMO.

I didn't mean Pre-order bonus, and I don't think the TC meant it either. I'm talking about the wallpapers and manga strips done by various Konami artists that are usually found in a "secret area".

Lament had manga strips, too.

It won't happen. Not soon anyway. Maybe someone will be able to get it leaked... somehow.

Amen to that.

I know that for promotional items through places like Gamestop and such, promotional items are just that: Promotional. Items that aren't meant to have high retail sales value (well, y'know, aside from the occasional hat or t-shirt).
Huge promotional packs like that of Portrait of Ruin are extremely rare and are more often than not included now in Special Edition packages, if producers deem it worthy to release said editions. (note how the soundtracks to GTAIV, DMC4, and MGS4 are all included in their special edition packages).

SOTN had a CD Sampler first.
-
What r u talking 'bout?
The trailers for Dawn had higher-quality versions of songs than what were featured in the final game, including "The Pinnacle."
-
I thought DoS's trailer music wasn't really that good, personally. Pitch Black Intrusion in particular was kind of kiddy.
-
Hmm... but didn't the official OST have high-quality recordings again? Sure sound good to me. I was really impressed.
Not so much, however, with how they ported the AOS soundtrack. YUCK! Sounded no better than the GBA's tiny speakers.

No, they didn't put any on the OST release.

^ I think that's what they're talking about.

In Reply To All, regarding DoS Unreleased tracks
In summary, so we can get back on topic here..
(And yes, Azmodan that is what I was referring to)
Personally when I first heard the Lost Village theme in the trailer I remember that the first thoughts in my mind were, "Wow..this sounds exactly like SOTN music.." And I was amazed..and still am..haha. :(
Damn you Konami...
BUT YES..I have been checking the OoE site daily to see if there are any updates...grr..I want my explosion of wallpapers already! Hah.

He's talking about the original version of pinnacle that play's on the trailer!
-
The trailer for Aria had a specially arranged version of "Chapel" that we never saw, either.
(It also had a different version of "Ruined Castle Corridor," but it was actually worse than what was in the final game. Kind of like how every new trailer for Portrait up until its release seemed to feature "Invitation of a Crazed Moon" in a different stage of development.)

I have those two tracks, actually.
-
I don't get it though, if you're ripping it from a trailer, won't it be low quality anyways?
-
There are three arranged tracks for aria. The limited cd sampler from lament have and the three as bonus tracks!

Yeah I have that. They're pretty good arranges.

I'm just wandering, why Konami didn't release and the rest arranged versions of OST! Instead of them, they released a CD with the crappy quality from GBA! :P
-
Because arranging a game's entire soundtrack would have taken more time and money than they were willing to spend on something like that. Even in Japan, game soundtracks aren't that profitable, so be thankful they get released at all.

The version of "Chapel" in the Aria trailer is different from "Requiem for the Black Souls" on Lament's soundtrack. There's also the arranged version of "Dreamlike Palace" from the Aria soundtrack. So, you could say there are at least five arranged tracks.

I havent notice that the version of "Chapel" from the trailer is different from the one at the game and the arranged version. Also the "Dreamlike Palace" track from what CD is it? I don't remember if i have heard it!
-

It's on the Aria side of the Aria/Dawn soundtrack. The name of the arranged track itself is "Fontaine Dreamlike Palace."

Thank's for the info! I'll check it out!

Yeah, I'm also going to have that soon. I just bought the entire LoI Limited edition pack on eBay. Those tracks are also on the LoI OST, btw.
And speaking of promo, preorder, and pre-release special edition stuffs, does anybody think that OoE will have some sort of cool preorder bonus, like CoD's CD Sampler, PoR's Super deluxe awesome set, and DXC's Simon figurine?

Anything can happen in Japan, but it's unlikely the rest of us will get shit. Even when they say we will, half the fucking outlets deny any participation; even the "respected" ones.
F'ing tired of it. Pre-order bonuses are handled like some kind of sick joke for the gamestore clerks to fap off about, while tormenting their loyal customers.
Actually, it's probably just handeled and executed really bad by Konami of America.

Well then, I guess I'll have to go with a Japanese import! Yaaaaay!!!!
