Something happened to me today that really took me back... looking through my brothers most recent game informer I found several Castlevania images, all about upcoming projects.
Now I don't know about all of you, but you might know that I am a very old time dungeonite, and way back in the day I was one of the guys to always buy new gaming mags and scan any and all Castlevania articles for upcoming games. I used to scour all the gaming magazines to snatch them up and share them here, and I can tell you this is the first time in a very long time we have gotten any love in print.
And if you feel the same way I do this series has been functionally dead since 2008. Now we have a Netflix series, games are getting rereleased, we're finally in smash in a huge way, mondo, first 4, and now now diamond select are all producing collectibles, and of course we've got Bloodstained as a spiritual successor. But this was a big one for me, we're back in the magazine's and I feel good.

Yeah I think we might be back.
I might have to dust off the old site now. It might be time.

I'll say yes when we get a true new game. I suspect the reason Requiem won't be on Switch is because we're getting an exclusive for that system. Maybe even the "action game" that was supposedly shown behind closed doors at E3.
-
I have a feeling something is coming. Between the show, Smash and Requiem, I think that’s all stuff to get it back in the minds of people. And it’s working.
Even for me, who’s a lifelong Vania fan, I fell off for years. And I haven’t even posted here in a long, long time, until recently.
Hopefully we see something soon

Yeah, I am revved. Smash convinced me into getting a Switch ASAP. It does indeed feel alive.
Some of that energy does come from Bloodstained, too, though. COTM was good enough to be a part of the real deal for me.

Season 2 next week, Requiem in the same day, and Simon and Richter in Smash. Konami just needs to just press the "new game" button.
Yes, Castlevania is definitely back. The Mercury Steam and Pachinko nightmare seem to be over.
I also give credit to Bloodstained Curse of the Moon for coming out earlier this year and ending up being one of the best Classicvanias ever.

Agreed. Though the new smash does look interesting. I've never bought a single Smash game before so this might be the first one if I decide to buy it.

A little maintenance couldn't hoit.

I third the motion to dust off the old site.
We might get new followers. :)
-
Gonna fourth the motion. The Castlevania tag on Tumblr has been picking up steam with the animated series (which seems to have snagged a bunch of new fans there), so I think it'd be silly to not jump on that.

I've felt the momentum building up for the past couple of years now, mainly due to the success of the Netflix show in my opinion. I think that show has more potential to capture a large mainstream audience than even a new Castlevania game.
Of course Bloodstained is another big reason Castlevania feels alive again, but also the slew of SotN inspired indie games that keep coming out.
The Smash Bros thing is cool too I guess, but I'm one of those arrogant SSBMelee purists so I'm honestly not too excited about it.

What issue is this?! I don't seem to be missing one, but then I can't find this anywhere either.
