Well would ya look at that, hahaha
It would’ve been a quirky novelty to watch for the series, that’s for sure. I wonder if other unknown relics of the cartoon exist at DIC archives in a warehouse somewhere

That Castlevania art (https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/16221630/s_l1600.jpg) makes it seem almost more like what the Beetlejuice animated series ended up being, which could have been fun for kids of the right age.
Just a reminder:
I could have dug a Castlevania cartoon even vaguely similar to that, particularly in the wacker, weirder era before Iga really codified a distinctly harpsichord-gothic idea of what Castlevania was and should be.
As for Metroid starring Shazam as Samus Aran, no goddamn comment other than I'm glad someone aborted that abomination before its heart started beating.

I like the look of the Metroid one, sans "Male Samus". Had they changed that bit and made Samus the female bounty hunter she is, I'd be fine with the look of that picture. That alien creature looks like it could be something out of the games.
Though, going to the ebay page, the ONLY one that looks true to the game is the Double Dragon one. It looks MORE true to the games than the live action movie and the cartoon we eventually got.

I can definitely see the Metroid one working out since all they had to do was gender-swap the character back to a woman. The suit looks like it does from the original designs I saw once in a Nintendo Power magazine; minus the transparent bubble helmet of course.
