That's not unexpected at all. It would be around those times that Atlantis and Lemuria were above the ocean and the continents as we know them today would've looked drasticly different. But when both of those continets went under, it would've effected the tectonic plates to such a degree, forcing the land as we know know it, to emerge. Aparently this 'rise and fall' of continets is actually a 'global cycle' of sorts. I have heard rumours that in around 2017 (give or take) Atlantis and Lemuria will re-emerge out of the oceans, but because of this global cycle, there will be a heavy price to pay. The continents as we preceive them to be will once more, change drasticly. This has been the talk of the town in the last few decades of the twentieth century. The earth will be a bloody mess of sorts, but at the same time we'll get to see the wonders of two ancient and lost civilizations.

Well I didn't mean that it was Atlantis since that civilization is in the Atlantic ocean and Lemuria is in the Pacific. But there are numerous undescovered civilizations out there that we have yet to discover. This is all interesting.  :)

What about those 'Bagdad batteries'? They look like pots on the outside, but inside, they contained all that was nesissary for a functional portable power supply. However it was more likely that these batteries were mainly used for gold plating and the like.

No, more likely they had bronze age technology.
