Looks really awesome!
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Gamers Day Trailer [HD]

Capcom's going all out with Special Edition and pre-order bonuses!

http://www.siliconera.com/2011/10/29/kill-leon-kennedy-in-resident-evil-operation-raccoon-city-this-march/

let's see:

copy of game (of course)
a steel book with exclusive art (nice!),
stylized foil sleeve (what is that? well it sounds cool)
Umbrella Security Service embroidered patch (Sweet!)
Spec Ops Field Unit embroidered patch (next....)
and 8 bonus weapons (WOW!!)

and pre-ordering from select stores will give 6 free costumes!!!! (1 extra costume for each character!!)
It's nice to see special edition and pre-orders offers that actually add more in-game content that's actually useful for the gameplay than just trinkets like statues and towels.   ;D

Now RE fans and shooter fans can get a atmospheric Resident Evil experience from Umbrella's side.   Well in my opinion, Resident Evil was always a shooter at heart despite the shortage of ammo, there was still just enough weapons/guns and ammo to kill just about everything in almost every classic Resident Evil.     I wonder how if there will be multiple difficulty levels, a hardcore mode would be nice.

It's really innovative how they are reinventing the city outbreak story with these interesting new characters, and their actions affecting the future for many characters!  It really is proving to be a nice twist done right!    I don't know about the Spec Ops, maybe they won't spam them in every map, but they are part of the 3 way conflict formula, it's cool that zombies and B.O.W.s are a threat but could also be a benefit in certain situations.

Maybe the level design won't always be linear or samey with what goes on.  There could be possible change in tempo for each situation, so it might be possible there are quiet and dark scary parts besides action parts.  or maybe more exploration and open enviornments than straightforward enviornments, and maybe multi-floor locations too.

Well based on the early demo build, even that hinted at some more possibilities.  the gas station looked really wide and places for cover, and there was optional stairs that led to a rooftop that's useful for sniping and surveying the area.   That was still like a point A to point B level, but maybe some locations like RPD station are more open and non-linear objective based, since part of the mission is to also find and destroy evidence.

Looks awesome!

Although it still does not have the gameplay I would want for a true Resident Evil game.

It seems FAR to action oriented.

But it still seems like it will be a kickass game.

Just not a kick ass RESIDENT EVIL GAME IMO.

I loved the bit with HUNK at the end. Its paying obvious homage to what he said in RE2.

I must be the only one who isn't pumped for this game.  It doesn't seem like Resident Evil at all, not even like RE4.  And this trailer only makes me cringe...the voice acting and writing is very awkward, and full of Japanese quirkiness.  It might have passed if this was 1998, but not anymore.

Pretty sure this "quirkiness" is a lot worse than what passed in 1998.
