Well in my opinion, Resident Evil was always a shooter at heart despite the shortage of ammo, there was still just enough weapons/guns and ammo to kill just about everything in almost every classic Resident Evil. I wonder how if there will be multiple difficulty levels, a hardcore mode would be nice.
It's really innovative how they are reinventing the city outbreak story with these interesting new characters, and their actions affecting the future for many characters! It really is proving to be a nice twist done right! I don't know about the Spec Ops, maybe they won't spam them in every map, but they are part of the 3 way conflict formula, it's cool that zombies and B.O.W.s are a threat but could also be a benefit in certain situations.
Maybe the level design won't always be linear or samey with what goes on. There could be possible change in tempo for each situation, so it might be possible there are quiet and dark scary parts besides action parts. or maybe more exploration and open enviornments than straightforward enviornments, and maybe multi-floor locations too.
Well based on the early demo build, even that hinted at some more possibilities. the gas station looked really wide and places for cover, and there was optional stairs that led to a rooftop that's useful for sniping and surveying the area. That was still like a point A to point B level, but maybe some locations like RPD station are more open and non-linear objective based, since part of the mission is to also find and destroy evidence.
