Takahiro Sakurai is one of the few Seiyuus that I'm familiar with, as well as Daisuke Ono and Eri Kitamura.

Wow, and I bet all that hate is unjustified (which is usually the case for people who hate on English VAs in general). Take Johnny Yong Bosch (a favorite of mine, BTW) for example; as you know, people hate him because he's supposedly "in everything" these days, yet older voice actors like Steve Blum are credited with more roles than him. Heck, Wendee Lee, Kari Walgren, Michelle Ruff and Stephanie Sheh have even more, which therefor renders his haters claims invalid.

Anyway, I also like Roger Craig Smith. He's been in a lot of games recently and I find him to be highly talented. I'd very much like to hear him in a Castlevania game.

Back on topic, I haven't heard Julius in HoD, but I always envisioned him being voiced by Michael McConnohie as well (a recent favorite of mine). And it might seem silly, but knowing that David Lodge provided Julius' voice, it's going be hard trying not to imagine Jiraiya. LOL

Well, Nobuyuki Hiyama is a very recognizable voice actor, since he provided the voice for Link in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask (Fierce Diety and Zora forms), Super Smash Bros., and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Oh, and Soulcalibur II. He also voices a couple others in said franchise (Siegfried and Yoshimitsu for example).

Johnny Yong Bosch is definitely one of my favorites, no doubt. He and Yuri Lowenthal are basically brothers-in-arms when it comes to the hate I get. Two other voice actors who are starting to be hated like them are Nolan North and Troy Baker.

And on Julius... Yeah, he sounds EXACTLY like Jiraiya.

Oh yeah. Travis Willingham works in my head for Dario.
It's not like he hasn't played as a flame-wielding badass before.

Maybe it's just me but I never really saw Dario as bad-ass at all. He struck me as the quintessential punk in every sense of the word. He THINKS's he's bad-ass, so he talks and acts like he's bad-ass. But the moment an actual, competent warrior steps in who isn't severely handicapped (like Julius was with his age and lack of magic seals) Dario falls like a house of cards. And when when Aguni or whatever demon Celia had bound to him is defeated, he runs like a little bitch.
12/1/12: Nominated for my 1st award! Thanks to all :D

That's more or less what I meant, actually. If I recall, Willingham has actually played a few roles like that.

Wow, Siegfried and Yoshimitsu? That's pretty impressive. I take it he's been in the business for while.

Johnny Yong Bosch is definitely one of my favorites, no doubt. He and Yuri Lowenthal are basically brothers-in-arms when it comes to the hate I get. Two other voice actors who are starting to be hated like them are Nolan North and Troy Baker.

I'll admit at first, I wasn't too fond of Yuri (probably because he voiced Sasuke, who I once hated, but grew indifferent towards), but hearing him some more in Final Fantasy IV as Cecil Harvey, Alucard in Judgment, Shinra Kishitani in Durarara!, Patroklos in Soul Calibur V, and recently Barnaby Brookes Jr. in Tiger & Bunny, I've grown to like and respect him as a voice actor. He's now one of my favorites.

As for Nolan North, I bet people hate him because they think he sounds the same in every role he gets. Obviously this isn't true since he is the voice of Madara in Naruto and sounds absolutely nothing like the Prince, Nathan Drake, Desmond Miles, Deadpool, etc. Troy Baker is godly, so I of course don't understand why he's hated. When I heard him in UMvC3 as Nova, I got pretty excited. LOL.

And on Julius... Yeah, he sounds EXACTLY like Jiraiya.

*facepalm* Really?

Oh yeah. Travis Willingham works in my head for Dario.
It's not like he hasn't played as a flame-wielding badass before.

Exactly. Heck, I believe he is credited as voicing Death in some of the games; another fire-wielding badass.

Yup. Throw Link on top of that with his appearance in Soulcalibur II and that makes 3.

He's now one of my favorites.

Hating the actor for one role doesn't sound very reasonable to me. Anyway, I liked the Naruto series in Japan, but can't stand the US Dub because of Naruto's actor... Awful. But yes, Yuri has been one of my favorite actors for a long time (Tales of the Abyss being the biggest reason).

As for Nolan North, I bet people hate him because they think he sounds the same in every role he gets. Personally, I don't see why it matters if someone sounds the same in every role. The reason directors pick that actor is because they believe the voice suits the character. (Troy Baker? Magnificent)

*facepalm* Really?

Really, unfortunately. Again, I thought Michael McConnohie would be a perfect fit.

Exactly. Heck, I believe he is credited as voicing Death in some of the games; another fire-wielding badass.

DXC, Judgment and OoE to be exact. Death was recast in HD with, believe it or not, David Lodge.

I guess me being 16 years old at the time didn't help very much since I used to obsess over Japan. LOL. Naruto's voice annoyed me as well, especially during Part I. But come Shippuden, I got used to it and now love the dub. I feel that the voices and casting choices were a huge improvement, especially considering that Viz brought in talent that were almost exclusive to video games (i.e; Chris Edgerly, Fred Tatasciore, Ali Hillis, ect).

Personally, I don't see why it matters if someone sounds the same in every role. The reason directors pick that actor is because they believe the voice suits the character. (Troy Baker? Magnificent)

Exactly. Vic Mignogna sounds almost the same, yet I rarely see people complaining over it.

Wow. It's like Konami of America didn't care much for the voice casting. Soma's mispronunciation of Alucard's name in HoD should be proof enough.

Well, since we're on the topic of Naruto, it's quite shocking how many voice actors in that anime are actually in Castlevania. Just waitin' on Johnny Yong Bosch and Roger Craig Smith, and then it'll be perfect.

Vic sounds the same in almost every role. That's why I was shocked as hell when I found out he did the voice of Broly in Dragon Ball Z[/b].

And the case of how Soma pronounces Alucard's name, every character actually pronounces it like that. I think the reason they did it is because the name Dracula is pronounced Drack-you-luh, so I guess they decided to keep the "you" sound and make it Al-you-card. *shrug* I dunno.

My first time hearing Troy Baker was in tales of vesperia he in my opinion is one of my favorite voice actors. Yuri Lowell is just so awesome and to think he was going to be in a castlevania game he could have been a Belmont  :'(

Edit do not remeber if I put this down, but Brad Swaile for Soma his voice just fits.

Just waitin' on Johnny Yong Bosch

I always found it funny that he was in DMC4 while Michelle Ruff was in OOE and both polar opposites
at that.
Nero was a hothead while Shanoa was so emotionless kind of like Yuki Nagato(which she also voiced)

This may just sound like crazy talk but I liked how the GBA and DS games had just text and no voice acting.  Bad voice acting tends to ruins scripts for me so it just seems better to imagine how the characters should sound.  I'm sure that I am in the minority here but that is my two cents.

Honestly I didn't mind what few voice clips there were. Something as simple as grunts can work just fine, along with even just a few tiny snippets (like Juste and Soma saying 'What the-?!" if they were cursed), although I have no idea what Soma says after being hit nor do I know what Mina says.

Voice acting in the series has improved DRAMATICALLY since SotN, though. CoD? Easily one of the greatest dubs I've EVER heard.

Honest to God, I hate the Japanese dubs of LoI and CoD. It's so painfully obvious the Japanese actors were miscast that... well, it's just awful to listen to. The Dracula X series has great Japanese dubs. The only English dubs I really thought were bad were the original SotN, the N64 titles, and PoR.

Sean Bean (as a Belmont), Nicholas Briggs (as a monster of some kind), Sir Christopher Lee (as Death), and Christopher Plummer (as the aged mentor/older Belmont).
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.
