Topic: This ain't the Roller Coaster Tycoon I remember (more links added)

After visiting Silverwood Theme Park in Idaho last weekend (which inspired some rides in the Roller Coaster Tycoon series), I decided to, um, try out Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. The controls were worse than RCT1 and RCT2, but overall it's a nice sim. I wondered if it was possible to mod it easily enough. So I googled mods for it. Not only was I happy to learn that you could make ADD-ONS (as opposed to just visual mods), but some people out there have made freaking amazing rides and park creations!

Most of this stuff is over 5 years old, but check out, for a taste of some of the creations, PutMeOnTheNet.net. It's the site of a customizer named JMainAZ. He's not the best, though. That title I believe might belong to Revolutionary Rides, which is the middle link on that page. They specialize in "dark rides" and oh my effing god they are effin' amazing!

Also search for the video "Legend of Shenlong", it's a RCT3 ride with a Chinese theme (you can download the scenery used in it). It's an awesome ride! Some of the best belly-lurching footage I've seen. The drops are nauseating even with cartoony simulations. If you can find the HD version (not on YouTube), it's well-worth the 500meg download (1.1 gig if you watch as a .MOV file).
