IMO I never had an issue with enemy HP. it lets me show off my moves. It'd be no fun if I had all those combos and all enemies died in two hits. :C

That said, Skeletons were NOTORIOUS sandbags. (bonebags?) They COULD use a reduction of health, but if i remember right, they seem to be more of an area specific thing. i don't recall them being all THAT prevalent in stages outside of certain sections. I found it amusing actually. "Oh it's just skeletons, the most basic grunts in Castlev-OH SHIT OH SHIT THEY ARE ALL TANKS- *PHEW*, reduced them to a pile of Bon-OH SHIT OH SHIT THEY ARE GETTING BACK UP"

If I could, I would even cancel/remove combos from the game. Keep a normal attack + subweapons + light/dark system.

That's just boring. no combos works for a 2D sidescroller, but once you go full 3D you need to spruce it up a bit. Nothing wrong with combos. They add some variety and fun to the chore of dispatching monsters. If you are gonna leave Light/Dark magic, then you need to leave some of their particular moves in (Holy Cross, Ultimate Light, Ultimate Shadow, the flamethrower chain, etc)CV64 suffered from this. First of all, the whip handled awkwardly. Secondly, there just wasn't a whole lot to it for a 3D game. LoI handled it far better. It had fewer combos than LoS does, but it still followed similar conventions. So it added some more flair and diversity to your whip swinging skills. (and made the long samey corridors not as bad)

Remove combos from LoS and you TRULY get a beat-em-up in it's most BORING form. Something like Bloodrayne Betrayal. Remove health from monsters, making them 1-hitters, and then you just remove all challenge from the game. things like Combos and beefy enemies are part of the substance of LoS.

So basically we return to "enemies need less HP" to be correct, since in LOI you can "show off your moves" too.

LoI has considerably less of them however, and not nearly as complex or variant from the basic attacks.

Boils down to personal preference I suppose. I don't mind using all my combos to wail on enemies who can take a beating.

Artificial chalenge. We all know the game chalenge is pretty much artificial (the worst type, make the enemy hp higher, more time to kill it, but in the end, you'll defeat them anyway). Two-hits + dodge and you can trump the game without any problem at all.

I don't want to see him doing ballet with the whip. Keep the combo simple would make the game better and more fluid imo. Make the IA more agressive too.

It's a problem I have with God of War or Bayonetta too.

I thought the AI was plenty aggressive? At least seemed that way to me. probably just because their attacks were more drawn out and hurt a bit. What do the difficulty modes do the the challenge? I havent played outside of normal. Do they add more enemies with better AI or do they just make them beefier and hurt more?

The enemies attack more. Their HP(or defense) are higher. Their attacks hurt more.

Pretty much the same case with any God of War at higher difficult.

That's not exclusive to God of War, you know. Lot's of games skimp out on legit hard modes by just beefing the enemies, or nerfing the player.

It's the most well known example, that's all. But yeah, not really exclusive.

I know 3d Fighting games are notorious for that, making the AI faster, tougher, and stronger than any player could be.

Also, LoS and LoS2 are heading to PC, the rumors were true then and Konami didn't back out.
This could also well mean that MoF could head to PC (maybe next year, depending on Sales) and a Chance that the MGS games could return to PC.

I WISH!

There's a chance it'll be released later. Konami seems to be returning to PC, with PES 13, LoS 1 and 2...
