Topic: My trip to the Swap Meet or Meat whatever

Okay so last week I went to the swap meet and I saw some stuff well not at first but it's how I do things and I negotiate pretty darn well. I got a dreamcast controller for 5 bucks the guy wanted 10, a nes max controller for 1.50, gradius and jackal for seven buck together, tmnt and batman for the gb for 13$ guy wanted 20$, Viewtiful joe 2 complete for 5$, a mario 3 box with poster in it for 5 guy wanted 10 so now I have a near complete mario 3 just need those instructions, and while searching among some nes games seeing as how this guy had all his good stuff on top of the table mario 3 box, FFII, Super mario rpg, killer instinct list goes on. His lesser section had somethings but among them I found a ducktales only one there so for 7$ bucks it was a steal. So how were my finds huh?
So do any of you have a tale to tell?

I really wanted FFII and smrpg but it was going to be expensive and I wanted quantity this time around.

Also I been really wanting to do this but even more so than ever because of retro liberty those guys are awesome.

Sweet! Sounds like you had a good shopping experience. Yep! Nothin' like buying up old retro games to make you feel nostalgic again. Unfortunately i don't have anything like that up here. I'd have to fly down to Vancouver BC just to get in on some of that retro shopping action.

Nice stuff you got for decent prices! Also, Retroliberty is awesome! Some of my favorite game hunting people on Youtube. Right up there with the Game Chasers imo.

I wish there was stuff like that around here...or if there is, I'm not aware of it.  There are two retro gaming shops in my town. They are fun to look at, but one over prices stuff, and the other has Ebay prices or a little less. I do occasionally check out the thrift stores in town though. The only good thing I ever got from the thrift stores was Donkey Kong Country 2 with the box and manual for $3.

Yeah sounds like you got some good deals, especially on that Duck Tales. Grats. I find myself collecting less as I get older, maybe it's just due to storage. I don't really have the room to display and enjoy what I've already collected. These days I mostly seem to just pounce on gog and steam sales while slowly chiseling away at my backlog.

Thanks y'all. Also last week due to burning myself from studying and the fact that I was sick(still sick as heck) but I really needed to get out of the house. I got a sega three button joystick and five extra games for free and it was only 25 dollars they were a boxed copy of sonic 2 instructions and all, yu-gi-oh dice monsters and instructions, bomberman blue for the gbc,jet force gemini,and a blank which was madden. I also got wave race 64 boxed for 15$ But please tell  some stories.

Back when I was building up a collection (instead of bewilderdly staring at something like a 200 game backlog) I did most of my shopping online. But I found some real gems in flea markets on occasion. I spent $2.50 on Astyanax (I know because it still has the sticker) and to this day it's one of my favorite NES games. Shame both the American and Japanese cover art was so terrible. Good graphics, great music, some of the most effective and cute use of cutscenes I've seen on the NES- with solid gameplay to boot! It's a fairly short and easy title but I'd recommend it to any fan of 8bit sidescrollers. The last physical games I bought were at a convention about a year ago, got A Boy and His Blob, Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA) and Batman for the NES all with manuals and dust covers for about $5 each.

PS- I also got Kabuki Quantum Fighter at a flea market. It's basically the same as Batman on the NES, to the point that I suspect they use the same engine, but easier. Still old school hard and fun though.
