Castlevania: Stoker's Dracula

I think about this all the time!

It's so interesting to me that the events Bram Stoker's Dracula are actually included in the Castlevania timeline. I'm not the biggest fan of the official timeline of Castlevania, though I enjoy much of it. but I can't help but think of what Castlevania's take on Bram Stoker's Dracula could be like.

I see it as half open world, half linear game play, with exciting sequences like the epic Dracula chase over the Carpathian Mountains. It's awesome to think about chasing Dracula through London and destroying his dens. Dracula's role would be very interesting in a game of this.

The player would play as Quincey Morris. So I imagine that the game would start with Quincey learning of Johnathans imprisonment at Dracula's castle. Or somewhere around there.

I'm really shocked that there doesn't seem to be a fan project for this or a game already made. If anyone knows of one let me know. With all of the CV fan games that are being made it seems odd to me that this one is overlooked.

Let me know what you imagine Castlevania: Stoker's Dracula would be like!

I don't think it could be properly based on Bram Stoker's narrative as much as I think it'd fare better merely lifting elements from Stoker's to fit in the Castlevania universe.

I believe I have mentioned before, but if this story were to be included in the timeline without heavy adjustments, major issues would arise. Too many elements are required by the neighboring Castlevania plots to appear in this plot that have no place in the Stoker's story. It'd stick out as a sore thumb.

Yet, if this were to be made as a stand-alone, timeline-detached story - a Gaiden game - then I'd see no problem and it'd be probably waaaaaay freaking cool.

But I guess a really good stoyteller could make it work, even including all Castlevania-related elements that are nowhere to be seen, nor have place in Stoker's story.

I wonder if Iga had a version of these events in his mind.

You seem to have a vast knowledge of the official cv storyline Plot. If anyone could make sense of it, it would be you.

He did, but it was about Alucard killing Dracula rather then Quincy Morris. This element was made up on the fly and does not work as it contradicts what happens in Bram Stoker's Dracula. Even the Bloodlines manual states that it was Quincy who killed the Count just before succumbing to death himself, and absolutely no mentioning of Alucard at all. There have been at least two threads in the past discussing about how a Castlevania take of the Dracula novel would work. For me, I feel that a classic style of game play would work out the best. Or perhaps something along the lines of OoE's game play could work out too.

Well, to be fair, this version of events was one of his initial ideas concerning what SotN should be about before SotN turned out the way it did:

I think he eventually scrapped this idea himself, because even his own plot (Portrait) seems to hint at Quincy having far more importance in killing Dracula than Alucard.
