Replacing a DS Shell

So, i really want to replace the shell on my Nintendo DS. It's all scuffed up and scratched and I'm none too happy with the way it looks, so I want to replace the shell.
Problem is, I'm not too technologically savvy but from the directions I've read online it seems easy enough.

SO, has anyone else done this who can give me some pointers or   just give me your opinion of if you think I should do this or not. Any info helps. Thanks
What a horrible night to have a curse!

When in doubt, leave things housing semi-expensive electronics alone :P

What are you going to use for a replacement shell?  Does somebody sell these online?

yeah, you can buy plenty online. people on ebay and other places sell them. they're the official Nintendo shells.

should be easy enough. The shell is just a casing anyway. just be sure your grounded before handling anything inside it and you should be good.

wouldnt be too difficult to replacement one especially because you are just replacing the shell.  If you ever need help, you can always go to youtube and find a video tutorial; I always find those helpful when I made a pandora battery.
Also, they do sell official nintendo DS shells online?  I was lookin for a lite one, yet I didn't see any.  As for the regular kind, they are real, unforunately.  At one point, I was thinkin of buyin a fat DS with one of those common broken hinges and ordered one I thought was real.  It was, however, a knockoff (not to be confused with a third party one) as in it tries it best to look like the actual shell with stickers and all, but the plastic is made of a cheaper quality and the shell isn't painted (I got the red "mario kart" bootleg, which the real one is painted with a metallic paint.)

Theres a video tutorial on youtube for disassembling.

As for which to buy, refer to this.

That is an awsome review site, Bobby digital.  I mean, I always wanted to replace the upper portion of my black ds lite since it is dinged up badly.  Now I know which to buy to make my ds look new again
