this sounds....dumb. .3 megapixels? Thats .. uh... pointless, might as well use a cell phone cam. (Most people have one now) With the dual touch screens, it looks like some games are going to be DSi only, which is a bad idea imo. Unless this thing is actually "better" with speed and gfx (like gameboy to gameboy advance) so that its more of a new handheld rather than an upgrade.

The bigger screen sounds enticing...but really, I could live without DSWare.
I don't know why Nintendo is making such a move though with DSWare only being in the DSi.  I mean, the DS is already the highest selling current-gen system (more copies than even the Wii). With the already installed user-base, limiting DSware to this system alone is somewhat, well, limiting.
Ok, sure, it might run off of the new firmware, but it's not like Nintendo can't make a cartridge for $10 that lets you download DSWare to you older DS's.

This looks pretty gay. wtf am I gonna do with a camera on a ds? 2 touch screens doesn't make any logical sense unless you have 3 hands or hate using the bottom screen or something. Also cutting out the backwards compatability is stupid. This'll just end up being another micro. Nintendo needs to slow down and just let the ds do what it's doin' the lites' fine. There's no reason for another new model. It's just a waist of money.

I was sort of hoping Nintendo would make an extra RAM cart for the GBA slot, like they did with the N64 (or like the Saturn, which had many of these for various 2D fighters). I guess we can kiss that idea goodbye, though.

Maybe they'll give the DSi its own Virtual Console? Gameboy (Color), Game Gear, and Neo Geo Pocket (Color) games... That could be awesome waiting to happen.

I don't think they make GBA games anymore, so why is it a big deal? Most people own a gba/sp unit anyway.

For me, it's all about convienience. Who really wants to play on an inferior GBA w/o backlighting when you can pop it into your DS and play in better colors w/ backlighting, and switch to a DS Game. Even though they don't make GBA games anymore, it's still a large part of what I play. *shrugs* It's only a matter of opinion.  ;)

Maybe for others it won't be so much of a switch to remove the GBA slot, and might even make the system more appealing and sleek to those who never owned the DS Lite.

That's why ya need a GBA SP+. :) Really good backlight that's about as good as the DS Lite's, plus the games actually fill up the whole screen unlike playing them on the DS (the DS having higher resolution and all). Only qualms I have are there's no headphone jack (and the adapter that you plug into the charger slot makes everything really hissy), there's only one speaker (which never made sense considering the GBA is stereo), and the SP design is a little cramping on the hands but really no different from a Game Boy Color.

I love my SP+ (the second model SP, since the original SP only had a crappy side light or something). Although I love my Game Boy Player also. I have absolutely no reason to play a GBA game on my DS Lite, especially since playing with the B and A buttons feels weird (although unfortunately some DS games are designed to use those two as the main buttons, blargh).
