Judgement versus Rondo of Blood Dillema

As many of you will be finding out if you own a Wii and plug in your Castlevania Judgement there is a forced update 3.4 system update that will disable homebrew applications hacking ability, and also leave a backdoor for nitendo to not only spy on you but delete anything they don't want you to have on YOUR system (which i think sounds terribly illegal anyways, but i could include the press release if anyone was curious so you can read it yourself if you don't believe me)

I've managed to acquire a Japanese Rondo of Blood wii VC game, (if it ever comes to the states i'm definately buying it :D ) Rondo of Blood StageX VC hack game as well as the other 3 castlevania games VC I did buy at the store (europe has cv3 out grrr) well if I install this it will not allow unsigned code and therefore my rondo will stop functioning waaa, and it is perfect emulation on nitendo's part.  (ex. the wolfs howl doens't break up)... anyways i'm going to get around this by other means until some nice hacker comes up with a way to block forced updates.... but its a pitty going to be a while before I can play now :(

As far as homebrew on the wii goes tons of emulators (SNES GEN, NES etc.) i can play rondo on a emulator too, hell theoritically i could play NITM on a saturn one someone is developing, but this update kills this....

Obnoxious Nintendo.... you guys are getting worse then Sony :(

it did come to the states, it's called "dracula x chronicles," and it even comes with an english 2.5d remake.

You mean the 2.5D remake comes with the original game.

I think you might be able to use the Gecko-OS to bypass the forced update and launch Judgment....

I was in such a frenzy to start Judgment that I loaded the 3.4 update accidentally  :'(

But so far, my One Piece Unlimited Cruise runs just fine, and any programs I have loaded on my SD card still function fine...

you know whats funnt my rondo works fine still, as does my homebrew channel the wii is unmodded and fully uptodate, so i'm not sure what your problem was, an alternate and more direct approach is to email nintendo alot asking them to release RoB as a import title

I just found out that Judgment doesn't update the firmware unless you are at 3.1.

I checked my system menu and I'm at 3.2U. That's probably why I didn't notice any drastic changes...

Anyway, I'm just relieved I didn't blindly update my Wii like I originally thought  ;D

Well, might be better to e-mail Konami, considering they make the game...

Then again, game companies don't seem to listen much to mobs of angry fans (at least Nintendo doesn't...).

Apparently there were some slight changes/censorings in the DXC port (i.e. no pants-less werewolf). I seem to remember Kurt mentioning those in his review.

Judgment does not force a 3.4 update, sir.

If you're getting an update when you insert the disc, it most certainly is not for 3.4 (since I did not get an update notice, I'm assuming I'm above in terms of system firmware versions, and I'm not at 3.4 at all).

I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I've been playing it for a few days now... Well i was able to patch the updater out of the dump i made, and it works, so I'm happy.  Didn't want to risk the other.  So if anyone need help with that or anything let me know.
