Dracula's Castle

Is it just me or does anyone else think that Dracula's Castle deserves some attention?  I mean, we've been wiping the floor with Drac since the 80's and in each iteration its the same castle right?  Alucard said "its a creature of chaos".  So, "what" exactly is the castle?  Did Drac inherit it from Bernhard?

No, if you remember, someone says that the castle is a product of Dracula's magic.  Actually, I believe that it was Alucard in AoS.

If you ask me, the castle is some kind of Innocent Devil forged by Dracula himself.

Sounds like a good enough explanation to me. I think some things are better off without an exakt reason. It gives the game more mystery, if you ask me.

It seems as though the castle has been around since before Dracula took the throne.

Interesting question. That tower seems impossible to build without black magic (and the clockwork proves it). So it's a magical castle, perhaps based on some Platonic ideal. The name 'Demon Castle' would also suggest devil forging or some other black magic (aside from being inhabited by demons).

Also, the castle crumbling after the lord is defeated is a common story trope, found in The Fall of the House of Usher and Ico :) Bernhardt's castle is also like that, so it might have been made from magic as well.

Or, Dracula just channels the minds of late-20th century Japanese game developers and builds it from that. :P

I always liked to think that the castle, for the most part, is a demon itself. Of course the demon is  under the control of Dracula, so he can change it as he pleases.

With things like pit falls, moving platforms and spikes everywhere, it makes it seem more like the castle is also out to get you.
What a horrible night to have a curse!

Look... all that's important here is that Dracula's castle is badass.....

Well, excluding CoD's version of it. :P

Also, if you have any further questions regarding the goings on in Dracula's Castle or anything else pertaining to Drac, remember the simple answer:
