Topic: Maybe a weird question, but what kind of whip is the Vampire Killer?

Thats true, but its also clearly shown as a chain whip with a spiked ball at the end of it in the original Castlevania, Dracula's Curse, Super CV IV, Rondo of Blood...

You're somehow (I don't know how!) forgetting about all the times it was also depicted as a leather whip in some of those games.

Also dont forget Simon in CV2 didnt upgrade but ONE whip. The rest he bought outright thus discarding his old one. The morning star was the only one upgraded and it became the flamewhip.

So you could say that the leather whip was vampire killer v1 and when Simon needed to resurrect Drac just to kick his ass a 2nd time he gave up the old whip in exchange for the new ones and once he bought the morning star and it was upgraded to the flame whip the morning star became the vampire killer v2 and the flame effect being able to be unleashed by other Belmonts later.

Then someone might say "Well how come you get the upgrades in CV1 and other games? And how come it goes back to leather if you die?" My answer to that is the same as CV2. He started out (as I stated in my other post in this thread) and grabbed his trusty whip when he knew he had to fight Drac. Finding the whip upgrades meant he found another whip and traded it out until getting the morning star. As for dying... well everyone knows when you die in a game (single player atleast) it resets to an earlier point before you died. And since he didnt start with that whip he doesnt have it when everythings reset =P

So the final answer is: Its BOTH! Theres just different versions depending on when it occurs in the timeline

As to PoR and it makes sense to me. It's both. Metal when it's unleashed and powerful. Leather when it isn't. Of course, LoI had it unleashed, I'm sure, and it wasn't metal. So it can't be "conclusive."

But that makes sense to me, it also works with the older games on how you upgrade it.

I know people hate PoR. And I do too, for the most part anyway.  But what it uses, seems to make a good deal of sense in it's appearance.
