Playing Famicom Casltevania III on the NES

Seems like its been ages since I've posted(I used to be fairly active around here). Anyway, I was thinking about importing some Famicom games. I was wondering since Konami uses a special cart for their games how well CVIII would work with an Famicom-to-NES adaptor. Thanks!

I've never tried a Famicom-to-NES port for gaming before. But I have played the Famicom CV3 and it's easier to play then our version.

Yeah, I was reading on the Dungeon the localization differences. He says he has the jp cart but due to hardware differences between the NES and Famicom the music doesn't play right which led me to post this to help me clear up the ambiguity on the site. I aways thought it would be fun and interesting to play the jp versions of III and IV.

I read the older copies of Gyromite have an adaptor in them, I just ordered a copy so hopefully its the right one.

Did you emulate it or do you have a Famicom--or a clone? I also thought about looking into a clone but wasn't sure about them.

Speaking of CVIII, does anyone know if it will run on the FC Twin or FC Dual system? I have the FC Console and it won't run at all on there, but I've never tried it with the FC Twin or Dual...

I'm pretty certain that it doesn't work with the FC Twin(if your talking the US version). I have a Retro Duo(and a NES, btw) and it works just about perfect the sound might be slightly off(as with most Konami games on the system). I did a quick google search to see what the other console you mentioned was and, incidently, a wiki page came up stating it works with CVIII.

I've been contemplating getting the Famicom CV3 too, but I'm wondering if it'll work on my Super 8. Every other NES game including American CV3 works perfectly on it, though, so I don't see why not.
