Of course, Lords of Shadows opens a lot of possibilities for BOTH sides of the saga, it created castlevania awareness again and that's something great, "casual" hardcores" are now going to buy IGAvanias as well as waiting anxious for the new chapter in the MercuryVanias (loved that word  :P ) and more sales=more $$$= more and better CV; perhaps IGA could now make it's beloved "big" game, with more $$, there are no excuses now, just hope it's not a metroidvania, but more a "Lords of Shadow -2Dparts-style game with 3D combat and graphics in 2D.
The saga has now new followers, or more curious people at least, it has a name again and it's now the new Konami stellar IP along with MGS and PES, it's part of the big side of their business so expect a different tratment from them, a better one we hope, just wait 'til new creators recources and ideas come from the saga, and we'll have a time made from heavem  ;D

Everything comes full circle

/agree (for the most part)

IGA is washed up though. Seriously. He shouldn't even be allowed to develop 2D games on the hand-held systems, quite frankly. They also need to be handed over to a completely new and much more *creative* team. With that said, I will always have fond memories of SoTN and LoI. He's a man with great passion for the series, but unfortunately lacking in vision. His time has come and gone. It's for the best.

I think IGA is on the right track again as well, considering Order of Ecclesia. If he were to take it a step farther, we could reach the level that Symphony had, or beyond.

Order of Ecclesia was still really flawed though. They should just give the series to some other team at Konami, I don't see why IGA should be given the series back, all of his recent games have suffered from the same problems of poor level design and inconsistent art and atmosphere. Order of Ecclesia suffered from this too, even if it was an improvement from PoR.

I think IGA gave what he could, and he's proven than when pressured to try something new, he really risks taking the game in unwanted or poorly fleshed out directions.

It's absolutely not easy to improve 2D games at this point, but I think that what we need at this point, for the 2D versions of the game, is either a return to the roots (an high definition Actionvania with some seriously sick 2D art, I would love something in the vein of the LoS artbook style or even in the style of Murasama: the Demon Blade, declined in a gothic setting) that works on creating something new in terms of actual gaming mechanics, or going for an HD super-Metroidvania of doom. If it has to be the same old same old, go for production values.
