I'm not too fond of the DXC version, mostly because of that funky synth you're talking about. The Castlevania Chronicles arranged track had that J-pop feel to it.

I haven't heard the original of Moon fight yet but i think its the best song in the whole arranged soundtrack comeing slightly above the Beginning arrangement. (why does it come under a different name?)

"Distant Triumph" was the title given to the remix of Beginning on the Demon Castle Dracula Famicom Best album, way back in 1990.  For whatever reason, it was decided to name the DXC version after this remix rather than the original song--perhaps as a bit of super-obscure fan service for the few people who would recognize the reference.

Moon Fight didn't sound bad in the remake.  I rather liked the intro, but then I'm a sucker for vocals.
