From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Pornography is the fourth studio album by English alternative rock band The Cure. It was released on 3 May 1982, through record label Fiction.
Recorded with the group on the brink of collapse, Pornography represents the conclusion of the group's early Gothic rock musical phase which began with Seventeen Seconds and Faith, and is considered by many to be The Cure's bleakest album. Poorly received at the time of release, Pornography has gone on to gain acclaim from both fans and critics, and is now considered an important milestone in the development of the Gothic rock genre.

The Cure - Pornography

Needless to say? This song creeps the hell out of me sometimes...
But anyway, i appreciate this album very much. Their cover art seems warped and gloomy, while the songs sound creepy and dark... What do you think, guys?

Well, it's possible those guys were an inspiration to this particular abominable genre of music (dark / Horror EBM):

Dawn of Ashes - Abyss

Oh yeah, DarkWave/Ethereal. For sure, The Cure was one of the greatest influences, but actually they all took as basis the post-punk movement, which ocurred around the 70s, apart from the punk movement. Apart from the punk rock scene, Gothic rock gained its own act, and became a subculture along the years...
Well, since we're talking about The Cure, i believe you're right about them being a strong influence for other Gothic Rock bands. The Marked(Billy Corgan) is one of them. :)

Almost forgot to post that: here is the track list for this album, featuring the links for each song. Hope you enjoy it, btw. ^_^

01 - One Hundred Years(6:40);
02 - A Short Term Effect(4:22);
03 - The Hanging Garden(4:33);
04 - Siamese Twins(5:29);
05 - The Figurehead(6:15);
06 - A Strange Day(5:04);
07 - Cold(4:26);
08 - Pornography(6:27).

Pornography is probably my favorite Cure album. (Haven't listened to them in several years.) It's very dark and foreboding, and it's almost too bad they never did another like it.

You might like to check out their Trilogy DVD: three albums (Pornography, Disintegration, and Bloodflowers) played live in their entirety over two nights.
Oh yeah, and also:

Ohhh, i heard of it, too! Their trilogy includes the three darkest albuns of The Cure, i think? Well, considering that Disintegration and Pornography itself are included on the trilogy, i very much doubt Bloodflowers isn't the same sort of dark album as well.
And yeah, i should put up some songs of the other albuns too, i think. I think Disintegration worths the while. Robert's voice is so gloomy in that album... And their lyrics are so passionate at the same time, i guess it really messes with your heart if you listen to it.

Probably not a new thing if you just look at the title! :p
