As NeoBelmont asked about before, Atlus is dying:
http://mynintendonews.com/2013/07/22/nintendo-to-acquire-atlus-in-parent-company-bankruptcy-auction/

The article is just pure speculation, but Atlus is really bankrupt.

Konami should buy Atlus. Then they can produce Castlevania RPGs and it will be glorious.

First off, you're a mod now!?  :o

Second, oh god NO!, that's like getting sent to Detroit. Plus after what they did to Hudson, I don't want them anywhere near Atlus. If anyone should buy them, it should be Gungho. They're doing a good job with Grasshopper so far and they'd fit right in.

I think that Namco should buy it, they know how to work with franchises from other companies.

I didnt noticed that Nagumo is a mod too. In my opinion they should create a topic to welcome new moderators.

If Namco bought SMT It would be a return home. Trust me even if namco at the time just published it they had a hand in the first two megami tensei games

I know my stuff

Nes: Megami Tensei II Soundtrack

Speaking of atlus I've been playing alot of shin megami tensei IV if you have a 3ds buy it NOW I'M not asking I'm straight out telling you all this is THE RPG of the system If you like demons check, if you like hard games check, if you like multiple ending check,

Also Nagumo love the persona 3 pics you have :)

They said that Atlus is bankrupt, that doesnt mean that they are out of money? Nintendo buying Atlus is a good scenario, but I still prefer to see Namco buying it, even if I love Nintendo xD

Bankruptcy in Japan is a tad different than elsewhere, but the fundamentals are the same. Atlus or its higher ups couldn't pay off certain debts. Their assets were liquidated and the outstanding debt was probably dissolved. Rather than putting everyone out of a job, the company itself became an asset in its own right and the sale of it to another company such as Nintendo would go to pay off the debts. This case sounds close to Chapter 11 bankruptcy in US law. Not sure if Atlus was officially or unofficially bankrupt. Japanese culture typically abhors taking up the court's time and negotiations are handled in private.
