Everytime I see a new Sonic game this image always comes to mind, makes me lol

Granted, I haven't played a Sonic game in years (actually that's a lie, I was playing Sonic 3 a few weeks ago) but the last "new" Sonic game I purchased was Sonic Rush when it was first released for the DS. So I can't comment on how any of the newer recent games have faired! (though from what i've read over the years from reviewers/critics/fans, it's more bad than good with the exception of a couple games)

Sonic Lost Worlds Debut Trailer

Guys.

Guys.

Guys.

Sonic X-treme (Jade Gully zone) (Act1)

It's back.
I got that impression too. It's like they(Sega) said, "Okay, what if we RESURRECT an old idea and make it NEW again! Let's reimagine Sonic X-treme!". Imagine of more game companies did stuff like that. Imagine if Konami said, "Hmmm, it's been some time, let's look at CV Resurrection again, and take some of the ideas and reimagine them, perhaps with some LoS-style gameplay!". That would be interesting.

And yeah, it looks like they are also getting some inspiration from Super Mario Galaxy. Hell, after watching the trailer, if I were asked to describe what this game looks like, it would be a Sonic X-treme and Super Mario Galaxy's love child.

Those few games that were good are the reason that I can never know if the current new Sonic game is going to be bad as most of them, or one of the few good.
I really wanted to like Sonic Colours, but I didn't.

Sonic Colours tried to take some things from Super Mario Galaxy, which in theory must be good, but it felt forced and out of place.
I wish this game turns out to be good, but from what I've seen, it's going to be very similar to Colours.

I'm one of the few fans that think this, but I think Colours is the worst Wii Sonic game. I kind of liked Secret Rings, Black Knight was OK, I liked Generations, and I really, really liked Unleashed. And of course I loved Episodes 1 and 2 of Sonic 4 despite some flaws because they look and sound like classic Sonic. But I didn't like Colours at all. Music, look, gameplay, everything was wrong (personally).

Sonic has actually been more good than bad these last few years.

Unleashed was a great game, and was the start of Sonic's redemption. People hate the Werehog, but I thought it was fine. It PLAYED well. The idea was silly, but at least it played well. Sonic Colors was what many people consider Sonic's true redemption, no overbearing gimmick like Unleashed, the wisp gimmick works more like item capsules in classic games, giving you a special one use ability for a short period of time, mostly to bypass obstacles or reach alternate paths. Eggman was also the final boss and main antagonist again after years of being constantly shot down by his own machinations.

And Generations was a love letter to Sonic's 20 years.

this looks to be promising. And it's based on a concept that could have been a revolutionary game back in it's day, which Mario proved could work just fine, and Sonic has taken back now.

Yeah, this image has been relevant for only, like what, two games?

The last few Sonic games have been great! I like what they did with Generations, and I LOVE Colors. This looks like Colors meets Super Mario Galaxy, and that just excites me. I can't wait to get a WiiU. This, Bayonetta, Mario games (which always have a place in my heart), new Zelda games, etc. WiiU has some really great looking titles either out or coming out in the foreseeable future.

you're lucky you didn't buy it. The wii/ps2 version was pretty bad. its like Rondo to Dracula X. the Ps2 version in particular is the worst of that version.

if you want to play it, get the 360/ps3 version. The "real" version. It should be on the pc too I think.
