Of course, can't wait for and hope for a US release.  Can't remember the last time I plugged in my SNES to play this game.

Anyone contemplating upgrading from a Wii to a Wii U in order to play this and Aria of Sorrow in the future?

Hopefully a US release isn't far behind.

I'll stupidly re-buy just about all of the CV games I really like. Metroid Fusion on the Wii U is pretty slick, so I'm down for AOS as well.

Would be nice for Rondo of Blood to be on Wii U for the 1080p visuals. I've got that on the Ouya at least, but having it on the Wii U would be cool.

cool, i got Metroid Fusion just so I could get a taste of what playing a GBA title would be like on the Wii U.  plus, gotta play a little of the other half of "Metroidvania" every once in a while too.

Can't you download Dracula X on the Wii Shop Cha-wait, never mind. I was thinking about Rondo of Blood. I'm such a silly noob. XD

Even if it were in there, a Wii U Virtual Console version would still be an improvement. 1080p, save state, button reconfiguring, and generally games appear to be priced lower than the original Wii's VC.

I'll gladly re-buy this on Wii U! I'm one of those weird ones that actually likes it as much if not more than Rondo.  8)

That is weird. ;) I like the game, but it pales in comparison to the original in terms of level design and control.

I'm with you, Gecko! I prefer Dracula X to Rondo of Blood. I've still got a copy and played through it just a few months ago...but it's such a great pick-up-and-play Castlevania title with just enough depth and strategy without feeling unfocused or meandering (which is a weakness for me of the more ambitious Rondo). I think I'll have to get DX eventually for Wii U when I inevitably get a Wii U. (I would say that Dracula X SNES was one of the games that solidified me as a Castlevania fan. I liked II-IV a lot, but it was something about Dracula X that really hooked me).

I don't think I'll get Aria...I just never found it to have tons of replay value, and I still have the GBA cart.

But...the deal-breaker would be BLOODLINES, which I don't have access to and have only played a handful of times many years ago (and quite enjoyed). Can we PLEASE get Bloodlines on VC?! (Oh, and Contra: Hard Corps, too, please!) Anyway, Dracula X on VC is beautiful, as that means this underrated game will FINALLY be preserved on some official level. I actually wrote a letter to Konami about 2 years ago asking for some of these titles, and they said they'd pass it along and consider it. Doubt I affected anything, but it's still awesome to see this happen!

I know this conversation has been had before, but I don't see how anyone could think Rondo feels meandering. It's so tightly-designed in all aspects, and utilizes so much strategy in the action at every turn—and that's on top of it having a great world to explore. It really is a perfect game.

Dracula XX with its Atari 2600 platforms can't compete, and Richter's play mechanics are all fudged up. On the surface I used to think it was pretty close in quality, but the more I replayed Rondo, the more I realized its vast superiority. XX is good, but it's really one of the worst of the classic style.
