HoD vs. Boycott Advance?

I've been wanting to play HoD lately, so I tried it out on VBA. It didn't run too well on that, so I tried Boycott Advance 0.2.8. After I started the game up (didn't touch the controller yet), I went to the bathroom. Came back, Juste was standing like and I start playing, and he's walking just like he does in cutscenes! He doesn't do that in any other emulator (?). If anybody else experiences this, please let me know.

What type of PC are you useing and what's it's capabilities? I use visualboy Advance and I get no trouble out of it when playing HoD. The emulator I'm using is VisualBoy Advance CE.

Not all emulators are made accurately enough, and some games can detect this. This is piracy protection. They intentionally make the game run sluggish and potentially unplayable to make you not want the pirated version.

Everything runs fine, except he does his cutscene walk. I can dash, slide, everythang at the normal speed.

I would try fishing around for a different rom of HoD and see if it changes anything. Who knows, it might solve your issues with Juste's animations.

Hmmm. Try playing around with the emulator settings. If that doesn't work then try out another emulator. And if that doesn't work (this is starting to sound repetitive isn't it? ;D) then it might just be your PC.

It's fine with VBA and NO$GBA. What I think is happening, is that not all emulators are built the same, so BCA might be reading a different line of code than the other emulators.

What's the Japanese version's name?

I remember when HoD comes out a few years ago, I didn´t have a GBA, so I download the japanese ROM to play it, in VBA I believe. I cannot remember the web site were I do it, but i remember that after the intro (when you see the Castle), the name was "White Night Concerto", if my memory doesn´t fail. The problem that I has with that ROM was not the language. When I reach Death in the Clock Tower (when you reach the place to change of Castles), the game simply don´t respond after I follow the instructions, so I quit playing and learn that the only way to complete the rest of the game, was download another ROM or buy the game. A years after that, with a GBA and a HoD game in it, I reach to that part and finally can use the "transporter". So, I think that the problem was the ROM that I played before :P

In this emulator, Juste cannot push the wooden box. Game play is impossible.

What's the Japanese version's name?
Concerto of Midnight Sun.
I'm on hiatus now.

I get all my emulators from the website Zophar's Domain. As far as I know of it's still an active site.

Concerto of Midnight Sun.

That´s the ROM that I played >:(. And correct, the name is Concerto of Midnight Sun, although I prefer White Night Concerto (even over Harmony of Dissonance :P).
