Everyone may know that I am a huge wrestling mark and I have played tons of wrestling games.

I think this game is going to be Vasily superior to last years, and I will like it but not love it. I still feel like I am just playing upgrades of the same game since THQ was the developer.

It's like the Street Fighter 2 complex. I feel the game doesn't really evolve, it just constantly adds new features and tweaks. When the series was with THQ through the SvR times, the game actually evolved and include tons of gimmick matches, the ability to fight backstage in real-time, and included mini games.

Since this whole realism complex, the developers have forgotten it's a game! I don't want to pay for what I see in real-life, I want to be able to do things that the wrestlers can't do in the ring but that could do in a arcade game...

Who's excited for this game? The trailers are nicely done though.

I feel like it's going to be a solid safe title, but in less than 6 months it will be just something I put on and play every now and then.

I have sooooo many concepts on how to create a wrestling title and evolve from this stagnant formula. Especially, with the advent now of DLC and online presence, why officially developers aren't running patches so that consumers can run their own wrestling leagues and factions online now is beyond me...sigh

But I digress, I am going to get back to developing one of my wrestling game prototypes now.

Anyways thoughts? I am curious if I am the only one that see's these kinds of flaws in wrestling titles. Especially the fans..

I love these games, mostly for the character creation. We always buy the newest one to make wacky characters.

My brother had a PS2 copy of WWE back in the day and he created both Hsu and Chan from the game mag as tag-team partners. God, they looked so identical to their graphic counterparts it was a hoot to see them in the ring!

The golden years of wrestling disappeared after the release WWE Smackdown Here comes the Pain for PS2, the quality and fun just dropped tremendously after that.

Heh, comparing it to the Street Fighter II series...

I get what you're saying though. There really isn't too much difference on this. And the "realism" shtick would actually benefit from an online community. That's the first time I heard someone mention doing an online wrestling league, and I would pay good money for that. I actually would find the game fun for a good while if that happened. Sadly, it really is just an update. I'll buy and play it. Then when I'm done had my fill with the used-up whore of a game that it is, it'll be time to play something fresh, young, and exciting. For in February, it's Street Fighter V time with Sexy Ryu.
