True that. but I also don't know if this is just moving forward for games already purchased or whether you can download across multiple platforms.
As you say it seems to be a way of re-downloading to new system to the same account. However, to do with the latter it's baffling me that in this day and age they haven't made it a point to confirm cross-platform capability.

They need to make it cross platform. If someone bought say CV3 for Wii U they bought it, so should be able to play on any Nintendo platform its available to download on.

Sony does it. If a game is compatible for Vita, PSP,  PS3 and or PS4 than buying it means you bought it and can play it on any compatible platform. Even MS does it, but they only have 2 consoles that can download currently.

Speaking of Nintendo, Kimishima recently announced how NX wont be a Wiipeat. He also said it'll still be unique, but I'm hoping he means it'll be like the MS and Sony consoles but with its own distinctive bits rather than a weird controller. Also hope they keep the name NX beyond its development codename, cus it sounds badass

Exactly, but the Eshops between 3DS and Wii-U aren't the same. They're money grubbing a-holes which is why they won't make this happen.

All it will mean is if your system breaks down, you can re-download the games you've purchased. Not making me want to buy a Nintendo console at all. Why should anyone buy a digital game they can only play on one console...

Such bullshit. I hope Kimishima changes practices like this, but it is still Nintendo we're talking about.

I support Nintendo wholeheartedly with physical purchases, but I only buy digital games if I absolutely can not find them anywhere else.
After Nintendo's lies and bullshit over the years I grow weary:
1) The release of the Wii about 'classic games being free' for download, I think that was a scummy move, possibly the most of all
2) Region-locking the 3DS when the DS was region free.... Fuck what is the point of a portable console in this day and age where aviation runs rampant? You're telling me I have to buy a game from the same country even though my mobile device goes anywhere? Bullshit.
3) 100% assurance from Miyamoto himself for Zelda Wii U 2015 release. (This pissed so many fans off and has made me personally not want to buy a Wii U even for Zelda, in the recent years where Castlevania has died Zelda has become probably my most beloved franchise.)
4) Why have a Nintendo account with no cross-platform capability, I keep saying it again and again, but the fact they're not addressing this issue is what's pissing me and so many others, off.

Again I ask myself why I should by another Nintendo console and the answer is I shouldn't.

Unless they do what MS did with the Xbone and turn it around completely, I don't think anyone but the devoted fans will pick up and NX. Haven't used my Wii U in months cus of the issues addressed above and by others

They damn well better man, seriously they are not towing the line. Gone are the days where they had all the 3rd party konami and capcom support to tow it for them.

The reason I didn't buy a Wii U was because of no Zelda. See at my best mates place we play PS3 fighters and Wii U (3d World, SSB and Mario Kart). But as a one player console, I look for Zelda, Starfox, JRPGs and games of this nature. (1/3 thus far) The other game I'd like to play is fatal frame/ project zero but because of my backlog I still have to play the Wii one.

Just not worth it for me, I'll get the NX and get Zelda Wii U HD  ;D

Yeah, with the differences now publishers have to put their games on everything to them a profit. It's like now there's too much risk releasing a game the old fashioned way (boxed) unless it's an already established franchise.

And lol they definitely will do that. I'm thinking what everyone else does: They'll pull a TP and realease it for the Wii U and NX. It was fine back then, but nowadays tons of fanboys will look at that and call shit (when its actually better: ppl with a Wii U get the new game, those who buy the new console get a hopefully better version)
