Would you buy them?

Castlevania The DS Collection
-Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, Order of Ecclesia, and Legends (bonus)
-full text of Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku
-"playable" copies of the Battle of Old Castle and Legend of Satanic Castle gamebooks
-a look at the EGM fax/internal reference document with commentary
-art gallery, cut content, scans, and music player

Castlevania Lament of Innocence & Curse of Darkness Double Pack
-the above two games and CV 64/LOD (bonus)
-the LOI mobile manga
-both volumes of the COD manga by Ko Sasakura
-the Prelude of Revenge manga by Ayami Kojima
-full text of the Demon's Blood, Blood Nightmare novel
-insight into the cancelled SOTN sequel
-art gallery, cut content, scans, and music player as usual

All games in both collections would be fully remastered for all major platforms complete with trophies/achievements, just like the Anniversary and Advance Collections before them.

Well? Would you?

I think the main thing that’s holding back a proper DS collection is the dual touch screen controls. It’s going to take a bit of reprogramming to rework them for the Switch, which is possible, but Konami is just too lazy to actually do it.

I really am expecting a DS collection to come out when the Switch 2 comes out assuming Switch 2 does actually support dual screen and touch screen in some fashion (please, please, please).  As much as I like those games, I've kind of refused to replay them because after the Wii U and the Switch, the DS screens just seem so pitifully tiny to me, so I'm just waiting for a re-release.

As for a PS2 collection - I'd like to see Judgment also included, since it recycled a bunch of assets from Curse of Darkness.  Heck, why not include some Pachislot games while you're at it, they recycled assets too haha.

You including the LoI manga got me excited - I hadn't considered that and it would be the first time we might get to see it in the west.  That would rule! It would be a great excuse to republish it.

Was not expecting a Haunted Castle remake... I guess this makes it their first new classicvania since Rebirth?

Wasn't expecting this at all, and it makes me wonder if Konami has a new mainline game in the works.

Holy fuck! I was dead wrong! This is an instant purchase! But it’s unfortunate it’s digital only, I prefer a physical copy.

Never asked for a Haunted Castle remake - but I'll take it!  It will feel nice to play a version of the game that's actually playable.

Guess I didn't have to wait for the Switch 2 to come out after all.  I guess that makes sense if they want to release it on multiple platforms.

Long live Castlevania!

Not so much the DS collection but would love to replay the PS2 games. Especially anything that includes the classic CV64. Despite its flaws, I had a lot of fun with it.

reviewed the list of requested features in the original post, and now i'm a little disappointed we didn't get the "Kabuchi no Tsuisoukyoku" novel.  i don't suppose it's a super hidden bonus if you beat all the games?  haha.

Gotta admit: on paper, my take on the DS collection has more to offer. But Haunted Castle Revisited alone blows it all away. And it feels great. Well done, Konami.

"Wanna know what happened after DOS? Beat this entire collection to find out!" They could've even paid Shiroi Koumori to use her translation. And it wouldn't be unusual coz lots of official localizers have used fan content to get the job done. Missed opportunity there.

maybe if they ever got around to making a physical release of this, they could include it?  maybe in the "deluxe version"?  also, i gotta have some details on the making of the Haunted Castle Revisited game.  give me some concept art and maybe some names and stats for the enemies!
