Yes, I know. Reinhart and Carrie don't have anything to do with each other, so it's not like both stories happen, only one can happen and it's separate from the other completely. Cornell, on the other hand, does tie into the plotline. He sealed Dracula 8 years before Carrie or Reinhart did, and his wolf form sacrificing itself is the reason Dracula was able to be ressurected for Carrie and Reinhart's stories. Way to go, Cornell, you're so stupid...

you'd do that too if someone like ada was in trouble. he didn't give a shit about the future of the world, just wanted to save his family.

Henry sucks, incase you haven't noticed! Not only is he a whiny brat in comparison to Malus, but I can't stand using him when he's older because I was being timed the whole time! I had to do that 3 times because my memory card got corrupted over and over again! I unlocked all the characters, costumes, and hard mode, so I'm content with that.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?

Henry's one of the best characters in the entire CV series! He's so fun to play because his controls are solid and any part that isn't is balanced by his ranged weapon.

His quest is too short, but at least it's not overbearingly long like Cornell's quest.

I think that's why I cosider Cv64 plays better somehow: Cornell's quest grows tiresome, and you can't play Carrie's or Reinhardt's quests until you finish Cornell's.

I know that's partly because the chronology of the story plots, but I really don't like being forced to play Cornell's whole game first. He's easily the lamest of all 4 of the characters.

I voted the only correct answer, which is that they're awesome. Far better than the putrid shit Igarashi cranked out on PS2, and they're also the only post-SOTN Castlevania games worth a damn (unless you count the repackagings of X68000 and Rondo, which I don't).

How dare you say Cornell's story is unbearably long?! Not only is it too short, but it's also awesome and wicked fun!

You fought Renon in normal mode? You do realize you don't have to fight him unless you spend over 30,000 Gold in his shop, right? I didn't even spend that much in hard mode, which is six times harder!

The 64 games are easily my favorite Castlevania games. They have a very immersive quality to them that I love, some of it because of the ability to be able to look thru the character's eyes via the C-Up first person button. There's so much to look at and it's beautiful!

The character graphics aren't the best in the world, but they definitely do the trick.

I'd have to say though, that I like the level designs in CV64 better than in LoD. There's just a bit more meat to them in the first game and levels like the Towers of Sorcery and Execution just play so much better.

But overall, both are fantastic games and really don't deserve the bad rap they get. I think a lot of it has to do with some of the internet community's inability to accept a CV game taht ISN'T SoTN.  ::)

Yup totally agree. With CV64, the levels felt just about the right length, but with CODLOD it's like they were adding more rooms on just because (read: to make the game longer).

Really? I prefer the level designs in Legacy of Darkness actually. I really wish they could've added more levels in the game though to make it longer. It's way too short. Cornell's story is almost at a good length, Carrie and Reinhart's are way too short, and Henry's is even shorter. So short, it's terrible actually. I actually just beat Henry's story again and found it was much more enjoyable than I remembered. Weird. Still, it's just avery short game.

Well, Cornell IS the main quest. The other's are to be considered side characters, but they are some of the best second quests in the series.

Play CV64 and Carrie and Reinhardt are the focus. And they're cooler than Cornell anyway. CV64 is a more focused and traditional version of the game.

I don't find Cornell's quest short at all. There's too many levels where there's virtually no enemies to play with; especially near the end of the game; which to me seems to be the opposite of what should be (as you get closer to the source of the evil).

I like that the other character quests have meaning.  It's not like Richiter Mode (SotN, PoR) or Maxim Mode (HoD) or Pumpkin Mode (LoI) or Joachim Mode (LoI) or Trevor Mode (CoD), in that yeah it's another character but there's no reason for you to be questing as them.

They somewhat fixed that in DoS with Julius Mode, which is a 'whatif' scenario, and in PoR with Sisters Mode, which is a prequel scenario.
