That's true. Although those graphics are a huge leap from the first version. Maybe they just didn't tell us until they were almost finished.

I can't wait to play through Marth's game to get a better understanding of his story.

Yeah, considering it was only released in Japan. I can't wait to play as Marth. Marth is related to Hector, right?

OMG, so thats where Marth came from. I was never a big fan of Fire Emblem. I never played SRPGs til FFT. Unless you count MoM and XCom as SRPGs. And I saw him in SSMM and I was like where'd he come from.

Coolz.

Yeah, Marth's from Fire Emblem. I've been addicted ever since the first American release. I hate the Gamecube and Wii titles though. They were terrible. :P

They have been making it for a while. If you look through the threads you'll find one I made about this months ago.

I liked the wii and cube titles. It could be a little overwhelming trying to train up someone new when there are a billion enemies attacking. (hard mode) But fire emblem isn't really a strategy game. You just have to fight a ton of enemies.

Nowadays you are either a graphics whore or a fanboy. BR is Shank not CV. It is ridiculous to think that it is better than CV. If it was CV then it would be what RE4 is to Resi, a series killer. Dumb it down and make it look pretty. Enough idiots will buy it.

I didn't like the Gamecube and Wii titles mainly because of the graphics actually. I just found the GBA Fire Emblem graphics more appealing.

Also, is Fire Emblem ISN'T a strategy game, what is it?! I don't know about the Gamecube and Wii titles because I never really got into them enough to find any real difficulty (in Path of Radiance, I only got up to the part where you kill the evil Paladin woman, and in Radiant Dawn, I only beat 4 levels because I was bored) but in the GBA games, if you try to run blindly into a battle without strategy, you're dead no matter what (unless you used hacks, glitches, or cheats).

I don't consider it strategy because the AI is just a swarm. They don't think so you don't have to, so just go in hard mode, pick a decent position and wait. Since it is counter attacks you can win the battle without attacking unless they use indirect. I like the games but...well, if you've ever played front mission, fftactics, or the vandal hearts series you'll understand.

Vandal Hearts is sooooo awesome. Vandelier would rape everyone in Fire Emblem >.> But then again, he'll rae everyone in every game unless they can kill in one hit or have enough guys to kill someone that has extremely high defense before he gets a turn... And they have to spawn right next to him.

OMG, Kale, you like Vandal Hearts too? I thought I was the only one who played that game (and VH II ;_; )

Anyways, fire emblem...aw man, does that series bring back memories. After a toonami forum, a Fire Emblem forum wthe next internet hangout I wandered into, and probably the most influential on me. Spent about 6 years of my life at that place...

That said, this game is definitely being ported to America, right? I mean, everybody wants to see moar Marth! It seems they've really improved it, although I don't much like the grafix...I wish they went with sprites like in odin Sphere or something rather than this CG stuff. :(

Ah, well. Did you guys know that the art is done by the Ghost in the Shell guy, Masamune Shirow? Good times.

In Fire Emblem, the AI aren't total idiots. They're perfectly capable of using strategy. It's not like they attack a random other player. If there's a character on your side that uses close-range combat only, long-range opponents will attack them instead of another long range-fighter. Also, they use the weapon triangle, so an axe-wielder won't attack a sword-wielder.

VHII is the greatest game ever made. 3 was Announced for ds...like 7 years ago. I hope they continue the series.

Fire emblem has limited AI. Only a few terrain types. No bonus based on facing or proximity to allies (unless you are ranked and even then it isn't worth it) Arena sucks too. Equipment is lacking.
(all in a tactical sense. The games are still fun)

The AI for Fire Emblem 4 was actually fairly advanced. The enemies would never attack if they had no chance of hitting and they would also surround you and blockade you inside your castle.

I totally love VH, VH2 though, I like the story, as far as I got anyway, but the combat system throws me off.

I've played VH 3 times. First, I just stopped, don't know why. 2nd I lvled up my main character too high and therefore raped my chances of becoming the vandalier. 3rd time, I beat it.

The second game, I played it twice or three times. I know the furthese I got in the game was at the battle where you're fighting on slim logs or something, and it was a pain in the butt to get across to the archer infested enemies.
