That's a mistranslation, it's Dracula's ring.

well that makes more sense.  the mistranslation kinda ruined the Dracula theme of "Dracula's Tunic" + "Dracula's Ring", not to mention the dracula soul combos.

The proper name of the ring is "Demon King's Ring."  "Demon King," also translated as "Dark Lord," has always been Dracula's title throughout the series.

Satan doesn't exist in the CV universe.

Mathias made a deal with 'an evil deity' to get his undead powers, so there is SOMETHING out there more evil than him.

I've always figured that there is Dracula, who is basically the CV universes Satan, but maybe weaker than the traditional Satan. Of course, if god exists in CV, then I see no reason for angels, and by extension, Lucifer, to not exist.

it'd be funny and cliche if dracula was actually an earthly incarnation of the ruler of hell, so when he dies he goes to his domain, then returns when summoned.

Wanna know something interesting?

In the Japanese version of SOTN, Death is labeled as "Dracula's Heart".

I've always looked upon it like this: Dracula managed to escape Death, making him more powerfull than Death itself but nevertheless Dracula is a living entity ( he had a beginning )
While he is the most powerfull being in the living realm there is no indication that he rules over Hell, Hades or whatever. So there probably is a creature more powerfull or more evil than him but it simply hasn't shown interest in the conflict and thus hasn't appeared yet.

Fixed.

All hail lord Iga!

Hell is hebrew for "seperated from god" that's all it was ever meant to be.

Actually, Gehenom (Hell in Hebrew), derived from Gey-Ben-Hinom or simply Gey-Hinom (Hinom's valley)  originally was the name of a genuine area in Jerusalem where the ancient nations used to perform human sacrifice. I guess the place won such a bad reputation because of this, that later the same word was used to describe a place where sinners receive eternal suffering post-mortem.

Quote
Yesterday, I noticed that the description for "Satan's Ring" in Dawn of Sorrow was "Once worn by the Dark Lord".  So, do they mean that Satan was a Dark Lord?  Or that the Dark Lord (Dracula or a previous dark lord) wore Satan's ring?  Was Satan the previous dark lord before Dracula??

Hmmm I think I remember parts in Bram Stoker's Dracula where the villagers refer to Dracula as Satan, more to the point that a Vampire is a Satanic creature.
