The *incomplete* room that goes nowhere is only accessible in the PSX version, seeing as how it's part of a complete section of the castle in the Saturn port and you don't have to do anything glitchy to get inside.

I've tried running, the timing is very tight. I recently saw a video of someone doing it, and they used the slide move. The only difference is; if you want to get into the secret area instead of sliding outside the castle, delay your slide by 1/2 a second.

If you slide into the door right as its closing you'll get caught in screen flicker, just keep holding right and you'll appear inside the secret area. Also, don't do a slide-jump, just a regular slide.

I did it by running at the door, and yeah the timing's gotta be spot on for Richter to get caught in between the 'barrier' of the closed gate and his sprite, then he'll start going into the floor, stuck, and there you hold RIGHT so that you end up in the pit.

When you fall, you can came back up and the floor tile will actually open for you.  You might wanna fall all the way first before you do that though.

There's just a save room down there, and exploring the whole thing will give you a whopping 0.3% more than normal.

But hey, doesn't 195.0% sound better than 194.7%?

yep, i guess so, if there's still an unexplored part of the castle then 194.7 could turn to 195.0 but if used math and round it off i think it's pretty much 195.0 already :D

lol.  Yeah rounding off would do it, but I just wanna be able to say I've truely explored every part of the game I can. :P
