A man enters to a castle, fights with his whip against monsters to save his girl from Dracula's pawns. We could add all we want to it to build the biggest vampire tale ever. This is the escence of castlevania.
- "We are not making God of war, nor Devil may cry, we love these games, but people will see, when Cv LOS comes out, that they are very different games- Cox said- It's darker, our goal it's to make it very atmospheric. We do have some action, but also a lot of puzzles, platafforming and a very touching plot"-
Almost whispering, Cox was confessing to us that LOS was, indeed, a remake of the first Castlevania, starring Simon Belmont-
"The idea was to re create the original story, but we realised that SCVIV already did that. Do what has been done before is nonsense. We proposed to relaunch the saga, from it's core ideas.
SuperCVIV is my bible, do you remember? the whip was used to swing, jump, that was the basic concept of the old games, we replayed every one of them before SCVIV and we thought about it, "What was so special about them that they were lauded at their time?"
it was their platafforming and hack and slash, what we are doing here, is translating all the 8-16bits CV scence to 3D.
Think about Uncharted 2-type platafforms, impossible jumps, avidly using the whip to grab things and swing. Add a battle system - yes, a la GOW - And a good dose of puzzles...""
