In the interview Cox said, that PS3 is the leading platform for the game development. And that for X-Box LOS will be released on two disks.
Link.

I will buy PS3 for this game. However I have some other reasons to do that (MGS4 for example =)).

Thanks so much, I've been wanting a PS3 for a number of titles [3D Dot Heroes, Little Big Planet, Mod Nation Racers, and a few others.], but this will be the final nail in the coffin, harhar.

I liked the way the Gamecube game "Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem" did fixed camera.
Although LoS is obviously far far more action-oriented, if it gets the camera the same way, I'll be pretty happy.  It moves, zooms, pans, etc. as you move through a stage but not in an invasive way and I don't think it would ruin your platforming either.

I'm glad someone agrees... GoW's fighting isn't that good.

God of War has great combat. . .in very short stretches. It gets old and tedious very quick.
If I forgot "everything I knew about Castlevania" I certainly wouldn't be excited about a new one coming out now would I?

I admit, the camera in Lords of Shadow is looking mighty cool. It does kind of remind me of Eternal Darkness' (which I've been replaying for the thousandth time, in widescreen and 480p for the first time, woooo).

That makes two of us. I always get so frustrated trying to land hits on enemy swarms. *glares at her copy of Chains of Olympus* That's pretty much the reason why I didn't finish that game.

I didn't have a problem with God of War's combat. I love action games so it's easy for me to get the gameplay down. Although I did die a few times fumbling on Kratos' double jump in 3..

I remember in an interview Dave Cox was asked if Vampire Killer was in the game. At first he hesitated, but he said it is. Was he referring to the Holy Whip, or just the song?

Yeah, I wonder about the vampire killer too.
Also, upon asked if the castle is Castlevania, he said something like "It is sort of there". Wish I could remember where he said that though.

so what game like that is close to? My fav game of that type of ALL TIME is Champions of Norrath: Return to Arms. Ive wanted more games like it soooooooooo bad since it came out

My bad dude, totally missed this post >.>

That game is kind of like the PlayStation Baldur's Gate games. So that would be more up your ally, or Hunter's the Reckoning fox xbox. Which both plays like................................... ....................................... what's that n64 game where you play with 4 people. Guantlet Legends I think.

But no, this game isn't like that, it's like Diablo 2 made into more of an  3rd person action game.

I meant, the game you mentioned is like Baldur's Gate. But Circle of Doom is ... how those games would probably be if they made it to a 3rd person camera. Instead of Bird eye's view/top-downish.

shelverton., he said about Vampire Killer:
Quote
The Combat Cross seems to be a fun new weapon. But Lords Of Shadow’s hero is a Belmont. Why not use the Vampire Killer?
We wanted to be traditional and use the chain whip from the original games. There are references to Vampire Killer, but I don’t want to give too much away because it’s quite an important part of the game. Vampire Killer is kind of in this game but I can’t really say any more than that. But I know that some people are worried that some of they key references won’t be there. They will be there, but we’re just not making ourselves a slave to them. It’s important to me that we get new players involved in Castlevania, that we grow the franchise so that a) we can make another game and b) so that Castlevania can be what it used to be – a mainstream title, very popular, and associated with Konami.

And that's about Dracula's castle:
Quote
Is the castle actually Castlevania?
The castle is… Yes, kind of. Yes.

It's in the same interview I posted earlier.

I loved that game! They did the camera very well in it, I think.
LoS does, indeed seem to be going in that direction and doing it very well.

The question if the castle really is Castlevania is kinda absurd when you think about it... and so is Cox's answer. I mean... hello??? This game is called Castlevania. The castle Castlevania should, y'know, be a given. So it is there, but not really. But yes. Except only a little.

I feel like a dumbass for doubting this game until recently. Most everything sounds great, and the most recent videos pushed it over the edge - I'm really hyped, now.
