The funny thing is, I was pretty hyped about this game at the beginning but the more I see the MORE hyped and relieved i feel.

It really does seem like this game is in good hands.

1. There does seem to be a variety of enemies, I was concerned it would forget castlevania's vast enemy types.
2. Each environment we've seen is so unique to the previous one, and there seems to be plenty of interesting rooms and not just hallway..hallway..hallway.
3. The fighting system looks to be as fun as lament of innocence.

----My main problem with Lament of innocence was the environments being repetitive if this is fixed by this game I think it will be the DEFINITIVE 3d castlevania.

4. The music thus far sounds real nice and the fact that they are using an ORCHESTRA for the game is awesome and perfect for this type of game.
5. The story seems intriguing and while it is ditching the established storyline its nice to have a reboot that might provide a MORE interesting start to the series than the somewhat silly lament of innocence.

I didn't say they are unique I said they followed the look exactly from how it looked in the 2d game. The big head upper body the massive fur mane, and the glowing red eyes.
I mean like the creature itself is generic enough that most designs would look similar to each other. When trying to design a fearsome evil wolf, you'd most likely give it lots of fur, red eyes, strong muscular front, etc. So it's like calling a skeleton similar to an skeleton from the 2D games. Kinda a moot thing. Now, medusa heads, LoS's interpretation would be interesting to see.

Yeah okay a werewolf is riding a big werewolf.

CastleDan, for some reason, this makes me laugh out loud everytime I read it. You just make it sound so stupid (that being said, I don't mind it too much)

haha, well it did seem stupid to me at first. Then again as cox said its a WOLF on a WARG..so not nearly as bad. By the looks of it that looks like a FUN sequence in a game.

I'm pretty stoked for this game for sure, it looks like it will be a HELLUVA experience. Part of me is gonna miss the leveling up and rpg like elements but this seems like a great classic experience.

This is the part I like most :)
I have already stated why I do not like leveling, so this is a mayor improvement for me.

In an age where it seems the average length of a campaign is down to like 6-8 hours for even major first party titles, 15 hours sounds fine.  Hopefully there are some incentives to replay it or the game is good enough that I'd want to go through it again.

15 hours is perfect, I don't like games that drag on.. Also, 15 hours is actually longer than any of the Metroidvanias (and no, I don't count grinding for rare items/souls.. that's just a cheap way to lengthen a game)

I just hope this game is difficult. I mean Demon's Souls difficult, and Castlevania III difficult. Too many games that come out these days cater to 10 year old kids who can't handle any type of challenge or else they just turn around and say the game sucks. This counts for most mainstream gamers too. LoI's @CRAZY mode was amazing! They need to do something like that.

I doubt it. This is, after all, an attempt to attract casual gamers to Castlevania. Hopefully we'll be able to select difficulty level though, but I hardly think we're looking at Devil May Cry 3 or Ninja Gaiden 2 difficulty here...

Shadow of the Colossus is hardly over 8 hours and its the greatest game ever  :P Its better to be great and short rather than long and repetitive (Damn you Curse of Darkness!!!)

Aha, but it's also better to be "great and long" than "great and short", though yeah, "great and short" IS better than "long and repetitive" or even "short and repetitive"(which is probably the worst of all).

As for the dificulty, yes, it's being aimed towards casual players, meaning that hardcore difficulty will be sacrificed so it could be, overall, a more user friendly game. Casual gamers aren't ones to invest long hours in game. They want something to entertain their for what ever short period(hour or so) they are playing AND they want to get through the game with the at a moderate rate and not face as much challenges as possible(because that will make the gameplay experience more unbalanced as far as game play time is concerned). That being said, a casual CV game isn't a bad thing. A lot of the more recent CV games(IGA ones) were more casual, as well.

Order of Eclessia was a moderately hard game at first with some bosses doing over 200 damage at times. Devil May Cry 3 isn't hard. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 was a lot harder (Haven't played Sigma 2 yet) I just hope they let us choose the difficulty at the start of the game. I don't want a stupid easy boss fight with Death. These so called casual gamers need to just stick with the wii and stop ruining my beloved childhood series, Castlevania.
