Order of Eclessia was a moderately hard game at first with some bosses doing over 200 damage at times. Devil May Cry 3 isn't hard. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 was a lot harder

Hm, I completely disagree with all of this actually. Ecclesia, IMO, was no more challenging than Portrait of Ruin or Dawn of Sorrow, while Devil May Cry 3 is probably one of the hardest games I have ever played in my entire life. Ninja Gaiden is tough, but it's got nothing on DMC3. It's alright to think otherwise, but I think most people would agree with me when I say DMC3 is hard, that's all. But yeah, people found Ecclesia hard and I most certainly did not, so I guess we're all different..

To each their own. Devil May Cry 3 was my first DMC game and I didn't realize that you could upgrade your maximum health until the final boss fight with Vergil. No, I didn't have it on easy mode either. I then proceeded to beat the game with Vergil on Dante Must Die mode.

Ninja Gaiden games are pretty tough because of the cheapness of some of the enemies. A lot of them have grab moves that you can't do anything about, and take tons of health.

Anyway, all I'm saying is don't make LoS a totally pussified game like most games these days. A perfect example is modern day fps games like Modern Warfare 2 (lololol hide behind box until blood falls off face).

Just make LoS challenging. That's all.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow sucks

I agree.  Challenge is a good thing, and I hope Lords of Shadow has it.

I hope its not like Ecclesia's take on difficulty. Its all easy attack patterns from what I've played, and huge amounts of damage and hp. I lost to the crab boss my first time fighting it out of shear boredom and a dying battery... Turing off your console in the middle of a boss fight is something that should never happen. I had the same problem with Portraits' hard mode. It was just cheap, and not enjoyable at all, the enemy placement was also completely random. The original castlevanias were hard and most foes went down in at most 5 hits. Hopefully they can nail the difficult, and have it be like Devil May Cry 3, which I think really got it perfect.

Ninja Gaiden games are pretty tough because of the cheapness of some of the enemies. A lot of them have grab moves that you can't do anything about, and take tons of health.

I now play Ninja Gaiden Sigma on PS3 and You're right - game famous difficulty is totally overrated. Reason? It's not hard in the way it should - this game is just unfair. In one boss fight I've finished him with two (yes - two) combos, but one his combo was lethal to me. Save point was far away and there's no such thing as checkpoint on the beginning of the battle. So it's frustrating even before fight - that's what I call poor design.

Also character can't block in the middle of a combo and after more powerful attacks he must "rest" for a second (a ninja with skills like him? I don't get it). Not mentioning that game can be very easy for most time and suddenly enemies "catch" You in rain of grenades or something like that and You're unable to move till You die. Besides, design of locations is incoherent - everything here looks like thrown into one bucket and mixed. And this poorly developed backtracing...

I know - it's just a remake. There are great moments but not so many. I'm probably somewhere in the middle of the game now, and I'll finish it (maybe even try second Sigma), but that's not what I expected from famous series like this one.

I wonder if LoS will have the traditional Castle Keep with the architecturally challenged staircase... I want one. Also, I want the music from Super CV4 to start playing when you enter the keep... whatever the tune is called... "Dracula's Chambers" maybe.
That would be impossibly epic! Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.

...If Dracula is even in the game, that is. I think he is.

I think Dracula and the Castle Keep is more important in Castlevania games than Belmonts and whips, actually.

I think that tune is just "Theme of Dracula".
It plays at the intro too. :D

Yup. Stairs MUST be there!!
It's like, when I reach the stairs I pump up my expectations on the coming boss, and I prepare myself mentally for the battle.

Oh!! And the clock tower must be visible from the stairs!
