well I'm playing through an emulator, I still don't get the action view, battle view thing. I left it and got me the castlevania 64, even though almost nothing changed for the first stages, I mean hell even the HUD and start interface is the same, but IMO the whip is better than energy shot from wolfman. but I still gotta solve the camera issues, I'm just playing this because it's one of the few castlvanias I didn't touch, and I gotta say, now I completely understand Konami's decision to drastically change the gameplay in 3d...not everything works IMO, Lament of Innocence was tolerant, Curse of Darkness was mildly enjoyable but still something was missing, I hope Lords of Shadow nails it this time.
Totally agree. It's different and has it's flaws, but is by no means a bad game.
My first thought when I played Other M was, "LoS will probably have a similar basic feel as this."
Hell, they could probably take the Other M engine and make a watered down version of LoS for Wii.
Minus the FP view stuff of course.
I've been starting to wonder if a FPS Castlevania could make it...I mean Metroid did it, it might be similiar to Bioshock in terms of gameplay except you use sub weapons instead of plasmids.
