But.... there are plenty of Metal Gear games around. Complete Snake outfits can be found within them.

Whoa, excuse me dickhead. But when you say "Snake Outfit" and you just give us some fucking headgear, it's disappointing, ok? That doesn't mean its the end of the world or that this game is garbage, its just one more negative to the list of negatives Lords of Shadows presents.

What? What lists of negatives? Dude, you haven't even played the game. Go play it before you speak of negatives you can't even be sure of.

This game is soo fun. It would be awesome if we could some old school barbarian DLC costumes like Simon, Richter, and Trevor but it seems unlikely.

No, I haven't. But that still doesn't stop it from being really disappointing.

Just curious how you can call the game dissapointing if you haven't even played it?

And just cuz Gabriel dosen't appear in a full Snake outfit, so what? This is CV, not Metal Gear.

The same way anybody would react hearing about a feature and then having it underperform greatly. And it's not just not just on the principle of it being a MGS outfit, ya'll need to get the fuck off that point.

So are you more dissapointed in the bonus features or the game itself? Cuz I'll definately give you that the bonus features are lacking...which sorta leads me to believe there will be some good DLC (I hope.)

It's a special species of fans - there are so cool and knowledgeable so they can hate the game even if they never played it. In some, really hard cases, there are even able to form a "compitent opinion", at least in their own eyes, after watching walkthrough on the Youtube.

I wouldn't say it's completely impossible to some sort of founded opinion/or rather observation on the game without having played it. There's finer details in the gameplay like controls etc, but when it comes to things like level design, it's easy to make a judgment unless the game has a billion side paths that we never get to see.

I mean it's pretty feasible in viewing a Dynasty Warriors video how restrained and repetitive the combat is (though it's usually possible to create some pretty nifty chains and combos in it), and how the level design is pretty flat.

Of course, it's not a completely concrete opinion, so I'd still would consider actually playing the game if I wanna make more of an opinion than an observation. Also, I'm annoyed that I don't have a PS3 to play this still. ; - ;

I thought this game was a lot more linear than it really is before I played it. While it's still straight forward and stage based, I was surprised with the amount of exploration in the game.

The whole game has impressed me so far, and now that I'm playing it, I'm definitely getting a SCIV vibe that I didn't get from watching videos.

Watching video games is kinda boring and tiring anyway, just because everything becomes more apparently repetitive. And then there's lack of tension, feedback, and etc.

SomaCruz90:
I think you might want to check out the Rules thread, since you've got a grand total of 9 posts across multiple threads and are already flame-baiting all over the place.

Anyway,
I've been playing the game for a few hours now, and so far, while it's a pretty awesome game, it doesn't 'feel' like a Castlevania game to me.
I'm on Chapter II, at the third or so stage, I believe.

Maybe it doesn't feel like CV because it's my tendency to destroy statues and candles and not getting anything out of 'em, or the fact that sometimes when there is something, it turns out to be the sad reminder that "You cannot carry any more daggers".  Or maybe it's that I keep on wanting to play my CV Arrangements at the same time because while the music is nice and bombastic and beautiful, it's also quite boring since I've heard a grand total of four, maybe five different tunes (and that battle tune is starting to get old fast).

At the risk of sounding like a raging oldschooler.... I want my ability to carry 99 hearts and use subweapons, and I want some kind of auditory reminder that this is Castlevania.

Maybe it will start to feel more like CV in later stages.  Right now it feels like an all-new adventure unrelated to any game I've played previously.
Having said all of that, this is still a great game... just not really a Castlevania game.

I kinda disagree. I think this feels very much like Castlevania. Yeah, it's not your old style Castlevania- but if I wanted that I go play the older games. This being 3D, a new story and it's awesome locations (I have the stradegy guide so I peeked :P) it totally feels like a new generation of Castlevania with little hints of the old. And running around with Gabriel reminds me of running around as Simon in CV2 3D style! I can't wait to reach the Castle later!
